Win Big at the Gold Coast World Masters

Win Big at the Gold Coast World Masters

At the 2018 Gold Coast World Masters, we had over 40 prize winners with the main prize being a luxurious New Zealand golf experience valued at an incredible $15,000+. Drawn from hundreds of entries, the winner was Stuart Argall from Maryborough in Victoria. On the night Stuart said, “I rang my wife and suggested she sit down before I told her about my big win. Then I called both my kids. I can’t believe I’ve won the holiday of a lifetime. Oh my god, I’m still in shock.”

Stuart won a six-night vacation for two, starting with four nights at Huka Falls Lodge, ranked as New Zealand’s best lodge and a favourite retreat for the rich and famous. Including return airfares, transfers, degustation dinners, and carrying a price tag of $2000+ per night, it’s safe to say Stuart and his wife Glenis enjoyed luxury at its finest. Beyond the superb accommodation experience, Stuart also graced the Kinloch Golf Course’s fairways – world-class championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus.

It’s hard to believe but the prize gets even better as the travelling twosome ventured to Cape Kidnappers Lodge for an additional two nights with meals and golf included. The extravagant luxury continued with the lodge valued at $2000 per night and $550 per golf round. Hailed as one of the “great modern marvels in golf”, Stuart teed off at the highly revered clifftop course to finish off his grand getaway.

Having just completed his incredible trip, Stuart got in touch with the team at Go Golfing to tell us the details of the sensational time he had:

STUART ARGALL

“A week has passed since we arrived home from our trip to New Zealand.

Words are hard to find to express our thoughts of our trip to New Zealand, that I won at the Gold Coast World Masters last October. We were amazed at the accommodation of Huka Lodge and The Farmhouse. The staff at both places were welcoming and could not do enough for us.

This was apparent on the first day when our plane was an hour late arriving in Auckland. We notified Huka Lodge that we would be late, they arranged with us our dinner menu and had organised a room for us when we arrived. This type of attention was afforded to us at both places.

The food at Huka and The Farmhouse was fine dining at its best. The golf is what I went for but, the accommodation was certainly a distraction.

The first two rounds of golf at Kinloch Golf Club was certainly an eye-opener for me, with the course layout and the degree of difficulty that presented itself. It was a challenge with a lot of narrow fairways, the rough and fast greens. But birdies on the par-4 13th and par-5 18th (putter head width from an eagle!!!!!) certainly helped with my appreciation of the course. The staff were excellent and made us feel at ease with being there.

Next was the scenic drive to Cape Kidnappers where the hospitality and friendship made us feel like old friends visiting again. Our suite was amazing, the décor was in a farming theme which was appealing to me as I lived on a farm when growing up.

The golf at Cape Kidnappers was like nothing else that I thought I would experience in my life as a recreational golfer. The long (at times) undulating fairways with challenging greens was something I will never forget. The views of Hawke’s Bay from the fairways and greens were awesome. Fairways were manicured lawns and the greens even better.

A birdie on the par-3 8th helped with my sense of humour, but it seemed not right to slice my second shot on the 15th over the fence and down the cliff into the ocean (where a lot of golf balls ended up). However, I didn’t mind as the views took away any anxiety I might have felt.

I could go on with as many thoughts and positive experiences that myself and Glenis had in New Zealand but, most of all, I must thank the Go Golfing team for affording us the privilege of firstly, my good fortune in winning and then organising the trip for us. It has been one of life’s experiences for us, that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

Thank you again, and I look forward to thanking you in person at the Gold Coast World Masters in October.

P.S. Also, a huge thank you for organising the amazing weather whilst we were there.”
