Cordoba Golf Club: The Home of Champions
Cordoba Golf Club is an excellent American-style parkland course located in Villa Allende, sitting at the base of the stunning Sierras Chicas mountain range.
In 2018, the course was ranked 9th in Argentina and has been nominated alongside 7 other courses for Argentina’s Best Golf Course at the 2019 World Golf Awards.
The story behind Cordoba Golf Club
The club was founded in 1922 and the course designed by Hector Bozzacchi. In the last 15 years, the course has been modified with the addition of USGA-standard bent grass greens and generous tifton fairways.
The club has a strong history of producing golfing champions: 2-time major winner Angel Cabrera and 9-time European Tour winner Eduardo Romero. Both men were born in Cordoba and began their careers as caddies at the course.
When you play Cordoba Golf Club, you come for the course rather than its beautiful scenery.
It is a parkland layout that plays over gently rolling terrain, consisting of narrow fairways and tricky approaches to small greens. The bunkering is tame, meaning the holes count on the trees to impose the line of play on many doglegs.
Enjoy excellent conditioning from start to finish as you concentrate on your thrilling round. The allure of this course is undeniable, it’s position in Villa Allende offers golfers both spectacular visuals and a unique contour at each hole.
The signature hole
The most beautiful of the course, Hole 10 is Cordoba’s signature and it does not disappoint. The challenge lies in the green which sits approximately 20 metres below the tee level making the shot tricky to judge.
Did you know
At the club, Angel Cabrera is known as “El Pato” (translating to “The Duck”) for his waddling style of walking.
Whilst Eduardo Romero is known as “El Gato” (translated to “The Cat”) given to him by his grandmother because he would always climb trees as a child.
