Mixing the ancient game with mythical history – Greece and Turkey Golf Tour

Ok, so many golfers may normally head to Scotland, Portugal or even Thailand for their regular golf fix, but how many can say they have taken in the sites of ancient Greece or Turkey on a unique golf vacation?

International golf holiday makers are always keen for new experiences both on and off the golf course, and some tour operators have a knack for combining premium golf with sightseeing, cultural and culinary experiences.

Australian based Go Golfing is one such golf tour operator that likes to think out of the box when it comes to creating golf travel itineraries. In fact, they host these immersive tours in 31 countries. That’s more destinations than any other golf travel company in the world.

“This is our 28th year and over the next 12 months we will host tournaments, tours and golf cruises for club golfers in many countries including South Africa, Thailand, Hawaii, Canadian Rockies, Morocco, and Vietnam,” said Go Golfing CEO Peter McCarthy.

This October they have a curated a 21 day escorted tour of Greece and Turkey that features the top courses as well as mythical history, ancient ruins, jaw-dropping scenery and incredible cuisine .

Limited to 28 golfers, the touring group will take on seven top-class courses including Crete Golf Club, Kemer Country Golf Club which is the headquarters of the Turkish PGA , Turkey’s #1 golf course at Carya Golf Club, the Antalya Golf Club and Cornelia Golf Club designed by Sir Nick Faldo.

Add to this a mix of ancient marvels including visits to the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the famous Blue Mosque,  and to Hierapolis, once a Roman and Byzantine spa city and historians will be in heaven.

This Greece and Turkey-hosted golf tour is taking place from October 21 to November 10 2023, and for the final few places check out https://www.gogolfing.net.au/golf-tours/greece-turkey

If the golf and iconic monuments are not enough to whet your appetite, then the tour includes Olympos Cable Car to the summit for a jaw-dropping panorama of the pine-clad Taurus Mountains finishing off with a session of plate smashing to end the day. Enjoy!
