It may be the most isolated city of its size on the planet, but that allows it to have a character of its own. Relaxed and congestion-free, Perth will wow you with its beautiful beaches, breathtaking beauty and booming bar scene.

For the travelling golfer, stop overlooking the capital of the west for a golf holiday. There are a lot of special golf courses within reach of the city that is bucket list-worthy.

THINGS TO DO IN PERTH

Take a ‘selfie’ with a Quokka at Rottnest Island

Named by a Dutch explorer in 1696 who mistaken the Quokka population for large rats, Rottnest Island couldn’t be more opposite from its namesake.

This little slice of paradise is located 19 kilometres off the shore of Perth and provides pristine beaches, bays and dining options. You can hire a bike and meet the local quokkas, swim in the translucent waters, or take in the beauty on a plane.

On our Margaret River pre-tour option, you will take a scenic cruise out to Rottnest with a 5-course lunch and unlimited beverages on board.

Enjoy the beauty of Swan River

The beautiful Swan river is one of the major puzzle pieces that make Perth’s picturesque cityscape. The waters run 72 kilometres from Fremantle all the way to Walyunga National Park.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy the Swan. You can plash around on a kayak or a cruise. You can use the paths to cycle, walk or – more unconventionally – segway around the river. Or you can set up a picnic at sundown on one of the grassed areas.

On our Margaret River golf tour, we will cruise the Swan River on our way to a delicious 2-course meal at Sandalford estate paired with the perfect wine.

Strike gold at Perth Mint

The moment you step into the Perth Mint you will be shouting Eureka! Here you will get to experience the magic of gold through demonstrations, multimedia displays and historic images.

Their world-class exhibitions showcase large collections of gold bars, nuggets and coins dating back to 1899. The centrepiece of which is the one-tonne Australian Kangaroo Gold Coin, the largest coin in the world, valued at over 50 million Aussie dollars.

Non-golfing partners will get the chance to check out the displays and even get their hands on some gold (temporarily) while on tour with us in Margaret River. If they’re willing to spend some pretty penny they could walk out with some gold of their own!

Explore WA’s unique flora at Kings Park and Botanic Garden

Did you know Perth is home to one of the world’s largest inner-city parks? Kings Park and Botanic Garden spans 990 acres with immaculately landscaped gardens and bushland. It’s also WA’s most visited tourist destination.

Located five minutes from your hotel, the park displays over 3000 species of unique flora with trails, lookouts, restaurants and parklands available. You can also enjoy sweeping views of the cityscape, Swan River and Darling ranges.

The attraction hosts many famous musicians throughout the year, but its showpiece event is the Kings Park Festival. Every September, the festival has celebrates the extraordinary beauty and diversity of WA’s famous wildflowers as 25,000 plants bloom.
