Olivos Golf Club – South America’s #1

Located in Argentina, Olivos Golf Club is South America’s number 1 golf course. The Luther Koontz design is loved for its beauty, tight fairways and fast greens.

Not only admired in South America, Olivos has also hosted many international golfers who have welcomed the challenge and experienced all this highly acclaimed course has to offer.

The Story Behind Olivos

The Olivos Golf Club was founded in 1926 by a group of 30 golfers determined to build the foundations for a future of golf in South America.

Almost a century later, Olivos has hosted multiple championships and is considered the best course in Argentina and all of South America.

The Course

Designed in an English style, Olivos is regarded as a traditional course with its tree-lined parkland environment making up the beautiful setting for which it is known.

Though built on moderately flat terrain, the course offers variety amongst its 27 holes. Scattered hazards protect approaches and tee shots throughout the course and watch out for deep bunkers that could land even the more experienced players in trouble.

Overall, Olivos is excellently maintained and the jewel of golf in Argentina.

The Signature Hole

Included in the book 1001 Golf Holes to play before you die, Olivos’ signature par 5 15th is considered a masterpiece. A fabulous risk and reward strategic hole, golfers will need to drive at least 240 metres on this dogleg right in order to fly over the water hazard onto the small, fast and protected green.
