New Meet & Greet Event for Single Golfers

New Meet & Greet Event for Single Golfers

Due to demand, Go Golfing have added a ‘single mingle’ social to the opening night program for all of their tournaments for their single golfers.

According to Go Golfing’s Peter McCarthy, turning up to any event on your own can be a little daunting. The ‘single mingle’ event assists singles by giving them a chance to get them to know a few people prior to the event starting. “We want all golfers to feel welcome and included and being able to meet people and walk into the welcome dinner with them is much nicer than being on your own.”

Peter was quick to add that it is not about match-making. He jests, “It’s more ice-breaking than match-making. Putting them at ease, rather than finding them a new squeeze.”

He adds: “Fun and friendship are intrinsic to the event experience and fosters great friendship and in some cases, love. We don’t promote it, but there are at least 15 couples who met through Go Golfing events. I was even MC at one of the weddings. It’s nice to know that our events have brought great happiness to so many.”

Go Golfing is well known for hosting the biggest tournaments for club golfers in Australia and Asia. Their ‘Masters’ tournaments for golfers aged 35 plus are huge. More than 600 participants have registered for the 20th anniversary Ladbrokes World Masters on the Gold Coast from 25-31 October. Around 400 converge on Hobart for the annual Wrest Point International Masters in January. In June each year, 700 golfers from 30 countries play in the Centara World Masters in Hua Hin Thailand as well as the Vietnam World Masters each September.
