Wrest Point: Hobart Waterfront Dining at Its Best
When it comes to waterfront dining, Wrest Point’s Pier One restaurant tops the lot.
Its large deck extends over the water, giving guests a perfect view of the nearby marina and Derwent Bridge.
But the location isn’t the only thing exciting guests.
The restaurant has a fresh menu, with a robust and generous wine list, making it the perfect place for relaxed fine dining.
Chef de Parte Michael Godfrey and Pier One Manager Katie Elphinstone (as pictured in the photo) joined Wrest Point earlier this year, and have truly transformed the dining experience available at the waterfront venue.
The pair, along with their dedicated and knowledgeable staff, have all worked tirelessly to give the picturesque dining outlet a revived focus, ensuring an incredible customer experience.
“We’ve designed and implemented various and exciting menu changes and have spent a lot of time training our staff to new levels,” the pair said.
He said a highlight of the vibrant menu was the 18-hour slow cooked whole lamb shoulder, served with a black pepper dumpling sauce, charred broccolini and baby potatoes, for two people.
“It’s been very popular, it’s definitely a star feature on our extensive menu,” he said.
Other favourites on the menu include a sumptuous 100% Grass-fed Cape Grim Porterhouse served with wilted mustard spinach and potato millefeuille, and local line caught fish served with braised butter beans, caramelised onion and veloute.
Ms Elphinstone said guests had praised the menu, and the fabulous and improved atmosphere, labelling it a ‘polished, but relaxed dining experience’ and describing the food as ‘good quality produce served in uncomplicated but sophisticated dishes’.
The Pier One team are dedicated to serving the very best Tasmanian produce, a venue wide ethos at Wrest Point, truly promoting the best food and wine that Tasmania has to offer.
“Customers are taking note of the changes and we’ve been getting some great feedback,” she said.
With spectacular Derwent River views, Pier One is the perfect place unwind.
