Welcome to South Africa! You’ll be greeted with a friendly smile by our South African guide at O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg). From here, you’ll be transferred to Protea Hotel by Marriott in the heart of the well-heeled area of Sandton in Johannesburg. Your evening is at leisure to relax or explore the local area. Perhaps a quick trip to Nelson Mandela Square or SAB World of Beer is in order.

This morning we travel to Sun City, South Africa’s Kingdom of Pleasure. This fully integrated lifestyle resort is a world within a city. It has a glitzy casino, water park, spa, restaurants, bars, boutiques, and most importantly, two world-class Gary Player- designed courses. You’ll be staying at Sun City’s Cascades Hotel, characterised by its tiered silhouette that rises out of its tropical surroundings like an Aztec temple. This evening we’ll bond over a welcome dinner and drinks as we get to know our fellow tour members and new found friends.

Anticipation will be running high this morning as we prepare for our first game. You’ll be keen to tee it up on the Lost City Golf Course. This desert style course is surrounded by spectacular views across the African wilderness. Beware of the famous 13th, a par 3 with Nile crocodiles residing in the moat around the green.
Non-golfers: Choose between a 1 hour Segway tour of Sun City or a trip to Predator World to see Africa’s predator species up close and personal.

This morning you’ll play the famed Gary Player No1 course together with your own experienced caddy. This course offers lightning fast putting surfaces, constant changes in elevation and challenging water hazards. Its kikuyu fairways and bent- grass greens provide the perfect playing surface. You’ll find the highly experienced resident caddies a tremendous help. So much so, you’ll want them every time you play.
This afternoon is yours to explore Sun City.

Following breakfast we depart Sun City and travel east to the Lowveld of Mpumalanga. After we check into the Perry’s Bridge Hollow Hotel, we’ll enjoy sunset drive into Kruger. This evening we’ll join for dinner and gush over the beauty that surrounds what will be our home-away-from-home for the next two nights. There’s something wonderfully intoxicating about this place. It’s laying in bed to hear the animals calling, it’s waking up to the smell of the African wilderness, it’s something special that you’ll only understand once you get here.

After an early breakfast, we head to Kruger National Park for a half-day game drive in search of the ‘locals’. It’s easy to see why Kruger ranks as Africa’s best wildlife experience. More than 2 million hectares with countless wildlife and more species than any other park. You’re sure to have some wonderful stories to share as we join together for a group dinner this evening.
We return to the hotel in the afternoon to unwind for a few hours before heading to the Shangaan River Club for dinner and a show. You’ll be immersed in a feast of culture with a night of song and dance and an unforgettable African Banquet.

Still in awe of our Kruger wildlife encounters we check out and travel to Johannesburg for a flight to George. We check into the Oubaai Hotel Golf & Spa, perfectly positioned between the Indian Ocean and the majestic Outeniqua Mountains for a stunning 4-night stay. It’s here you’ll discover one of South Africa’s best kept secrets, the Garden route. The scenery alone is enough to make you stop and stare. We’ll join together for dinner tonight at our new hotel.

After breakfast we enjoy a leisurely drive to Knysna to play the magnificent Pezula Golf Club. This is one of the most scenic golf courses in the world with sweeping vistas over the Indian Ocean and pristine fairways like carpet draped over the rolling landscape. Pezula is often a highlight on tour.
Non-golfers: Cruise along the Knysna Estuary and tour the Featherbed Nature Reserve.

Today is a day at leisure. You may wish to relax and enjoy the extensive facilities of the hotel or… Can we tempt you to play at the exclusive Links, Fancourt? Playing this course is very very special and you normally can only play it if you are a hotel guest. It is one of the most visually stunning golf courses you’ll ever play. Plus, you’ll be amazed by the wonderful little treats you’ll receive along the way. How about starting your round with a nip of whiskey? (Additional cost applies)
Today, non-golfers are spoilt with a luxurious spa treatment.

This morning we play the famed Oubaai Golf Course perfectly situated right on our hotel grounds. The Ernie Els 18-hole Championship course is kept in perfect condition and is one of the most beautiful settings in the golfing world. Tonight we get together for a group dinner.
Non-golfers: Enjoy a tour of an African Ostrich Farm where you’ll learn the fascinating story of ostrich farming in Oudtshoorn. Get up close and personal with these marvellous creatures and enjoy the quirky ostrich races!

After a leisurely morning, we visit a local wine farm where we enjoy a picnic lunch.

After we check out, we make our way to the dramatic Pinnacle Point golf course. Designed by Peter Matkovich, and set on a clifftop with 270 degree Indian Ocean views, the course is a spectacular masterpiece. The course is characterised by 7 majestic holes that line the Indian Ocean rock cliffs, four of which are played over ocean and cliff.
Non-golfers: You’ll visit the picturesque town of Mosselbay where you’ll enjoy views from the St Blaize Lighthouse lookout, explore the Diaz Caravelle Museum Complex and take a boat ride to see the Cape Fur Seals on Seal Island.
This afternoon, we head toward the Cape. The landscapes traversed on this trip are said to be some of the most scenic in the world. Rolling fields of canola and wheat set in a fynbos-laden mountain backdrop, cover the landscape as far as the eye can see. Upon arrival in Cape Winelands, we settle into our hotel in Somerset West and to celebrate our arrival into the Winelands, we sit down for a group dinner.

Golf is first up on the agenda today at the highly ranked Erinvale Golf Course. If the challenge of a Gary Player designed 18-hole golf course, coupled with breathtaking Winelands, sea and mountain views is what you are looking for, then you’ll love playing this course.
Non-golfers: Enjoy a visit to the Cheetah Outreach Project followed by an Eagle Encounter at Spier.
This afternoon we enjoy a wine tasting at a nearby wine farm in the Lourensford Valley.
(B, LG) Hotel: Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa
This morning, you’ll be delighted by more amazing scenery as we travel onward to Cape Town. On the way, we visit the fascinating towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The area is stunning and the quality of the food and wine is stupendous.
We’ll take a cable car up Table Mountain to enjoy amazing views of the cityscape and as far as Robben Island. You really can’t say you’ve visited Cape Town until you’ve stood on top of it.
Known as ‘The Mother City’ this is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is a must on any South African itinerary. Our home for the next 3 nights was originally built as a convict station. Today The Portswood Hotel is somewhere you’re far more likely to want to extend your stay.
(B) Hotel: The Portswood Hotel
Enjoy a leisurely morning before we head to Clovelly Country Club for a challenging mid-day round of golf. Set in the Fish Hoek Valley, the course was designed to be secluded from the everyday noises of passing cars and local railway tracks to truly entrench your senses into your game. With breathtaking views of the False Bay Coastline and the surrounding mountains and valleys, it is little wonder that Clovelly was one of Bobby Locke’s favourite courses.
Non-golfers: Today you’re free to explore Cape Town and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with the red Hop-on, Hop-off bus service.

Today we’ll head out for a stunning tour of Cape Point and Boulders Penguin Beach. Cape Point is a spectacular sight with towering stone cliffs, endemic fynbos, breathtaking bays, beaches and rolling green hills and valleys. Boulders Penguin Beach is home to over 2000 African penguins, and we’ll watch in awe as they waddle about their day.
This evening we sit down for a celebratory dinner to toast our champions and celebrate new friendships and great memories. (Drinks included)

After breakfast, we bid farewell to South Africa. Your group transfer to Cape Town Airport will depart around 11 am for your flight home. (B)

Victoria Falls Hotel, Zimbabwe
Victoria Falls presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It was described by the Kololo tribe living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa- Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. In more modern terms Victoria Falls is known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world. Come early and tick Victoria Falls off your bucket list.
Land at Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport where you’ll be greeted by our local representative. He’ll accompany you to the City Lodge Airport hotel and take care of your golf clubs transfer to the hotel where the main tour starts. Tonight, take the time to rest and prepare for the adventure that awaits. After breakfast, you’ll board a flight to Victoria Falls where you’ll be transferred to one of Africa’s most legendary retreats, the venerable Victoria Falls Hotel. Get ready for some fun and adventure as you embark on guided sightseeing trips to explore the wonder that is Victoria Falls. Finally, you’ll fly back to Johannesburg where you’ll be transferred to the Protea Hotel to meet with the rest of your ‘Wild About South Africa’ tour companions.
