Welcome to a Blue Water Paradise… Port Stephens is an idyllic coastal nirvana where the emphasis is on peace and pleasure. It is a naturally gifted region that is fast becoming Australia’s golfing paradise with its beautiful and memorable courses. Aside from the golf, you’ll find a lot of sweet spots in Port Stephens. Swing by the Marina, hook into some fresh seafood, drive over the dunes and enjoy a slice of the good life – it is always above par.

You will enjoy 3 beautiful and challenging rounds of golf at some of the best courses in the region. The standard will be set at the world-class Pacific Dunes Golf Club where you will play on perfectly manicured fairways and greens. Next up, Nelson Bay Golf Club which is recognized as a ‘must-experience’ when visiting Port Stephens. To finish, you’ll be dodging water hazards as much as kangaroos at Horizons Golf Club, a championship course surrounded by natural bushland.

Along the way enjoy a wonderful range of sightseeing and activities, including Fort Scratchley, a fascinating coastal WWII fort-turned-museum, and an optional twilight dinner cruise where you can catch an array of colours over the water as the sun sets.

If you are looking for an easy destination to escape the fast-paced city life look no further than here. Extend your relaxing vacation for a further 6 days on our Hunter Valley post-tour where you will enjoy epicurean indulgences in the picturesque hinterlands.

DAY 1 | Tuesday 21 April | Port Stephens

Welcome to New South Wales, you’ll be greeted at Newcastle Airport and transferred to your hotel.

You’ll be staying at the luxurious Oaks Lure, overlooking the beautiful bay and just a short walk from the beach.

Tonight, come together for a welcome dinner and drinks.

(D with drinks) Hotel: Oaks Lure, Nelson Bay

DAY 2 | Wednesday 22 April | Port Stephens

Wake up in paradise and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before a fantastic day of golf.

A pure golf course sculpted out of native scrub land that was once a sand mine, Pacific Dunes truly is a beauty to behold. With a fantastic range of risk and reward holes, the course calls upon the daring to give it everything they’ve got whilst offering safer alternatives to those less willing to take a risk. A longtime favourite, the 3rd is a right dogleg that sweeps to a small raised green for a short par four.

Whilst the golfers tee up their first round, non-golfers will glide through the bay’s crystal waters on a Dolphin Discovery Cruise. Playful dolphins will frolic along beside the boat as you enjoy the cool seabreeze and scenic surroundings of the harbour.

Enjoy an evening at lesiure. You’re a 5 minute walk from Nelson Bay Bowling & Recreation Club if you’re after a hearty dinner and perhaps a casual game of bowls.

(B) Hotel: Oaks Lure, Nelson Bay

DAY 3 | Thursday 23 April | Port Stephens

Today, you get to choose your own adventure.

Option 1: Play a second round at Pacific Dunes and enjoy lunch and drinks at the clubhouse afterward.

Option 2: Embark on a sightseeing tour of Newcastle. We’ll start with Memorial Walk, a clifftop pathway with stunning views of the ocean and artworks dedicated to WWI soldiers. Continue on to Nobbys Lighthouse, an active lighthouse on the south of Newcastle harbour.

We’ll then make our way to Fort Scratchley for a guided site and tunnel tour. The fort was built in 1882 but was not used until 1942 during the second world war. It now functions as a museum after a full restoration.

After wandering through Newcastle Museum, we’ll enjoy lunch at Scratchley’s on the Wharf.

Tonight, kick back and relax in your hotel with an evening at leisure.

(B, L) Hotel: Oaks Lure, Nelson Bay

DAY 4 | Friday 24 April | Port Stephens

This morning we make our way to Nelson Bay Golf Club, where we’ll enjoy breakfast in the clubhouse before teeing off our second round.

A championship layout nestled in the heart of the bay, this course is sure to provide you many fond memories by the end of your round. Undulating fairways make their way through bush with bunkers and man-made lakes interjecting in the course’s defense. The 18th is arguably the most picturesque, and the unique 12th will satisfy your hunger for a challenge. Look out for lounging roos along the way!

Non-golfers visit Murray’s Craft Brewing Co. for a delicious lunch* and tour of the brewery. If beer isn’t your taste, Murray’s shares its home with Port Stephens Winery so everyone can cheers a glass! (Lunch at own cost).

Tonight you can enjoy an evening at leisure, or opt to set sail on a twilight dinner cruise. Glide along smooth waters as the sun sets in an array of colours. Enjoy a freshly-prepared buffet featuring signature seafood dishes, and finish with a dance to the live band. Keep an eye out for dolphins along the way. (Additional cost).

(B) Hotel: Oaks Lure, Nelson Bay

DAY 5 | Saturday 25 April | Port Stephens

Time to tee off our last round of golf today at Horizons Golf Resort.

Surrounded by natural bushland, and home to laidback kangaroos, this course is quite authentically Australian. Its 18 holes are the most acclaimed in Port Stephens and recently underwent extensive work, now its undulating fairways and bent grass greens are in fantastic condition! Enjoy an eco-diverse layout that challenges and delights, especially the par 3 17th which is ranked amongst the world’s greatest golf holes.

Non-golfers enjoy a day at leisure to soak up the sun, relax in the resort or explore the area at your pace.

Tonight we’ll enjoy each others company for a farewell dinner and drinks at Little Beach Boat House. We’ll raise a glass to our champions and the wonderful friendships we’ve made along the way.

(B,D) Hotel: Oaks Lure, Nelson Bay

A very professionally run golf tour company that provides a fantastic mix of golf and sightseeing, whilst meeting other people that shared the same interests.

Peta, Canada 2017

I would recommend to anyone to travel with Go Golfing. The accommodation was first class. The golf courses were absolutely brilliant and in mint condition.

Wendy, Dubai 2018

The trip was a fantastic experience, the people and hosts were terrific. This was our first tour so we had no specific expectations. The golf courses were exceptional, the accommodation throughout was excellent and couldn’t be faulted.

Chris, Vietnam 2018

I chose this trip because it was an organised combination of golf and sightseeing with 5-star hotels and highly rated golf courses that we would most likely never otherwise have the opportunity to play.

Diane, Spain & Portugal 2018

Highlights are hard to pinpoint as the whole trip was a highlight. As a first-timer with Go Golfing, I think the trip was well-organised.

As a first-time non-golfer, the trip was great. The accommodation was excellent, the people were all very friendly, the host was excellent and looked after us well.

Wendy, Japan 2019
