NZ South Island Map

The South Island is home to soaring mountains, pristine nature, friendly locals and picture-perfect vineyards. On this tour, you’ll be transported to the purest natural landscapes – from wildlife to wineries, from glacial valleys to star-filled skies – and some of the best golf the South Island has on offer…

Bubbling with activity, Queenstown will be our base for 9 fun-filled days exploring the region, indulging in new adventures and playing spectacular golf courses. Our adventures take us to Arrowtown, a charming and quirky gold rush village nestled below the beautiful peaks surrounding the tranquil Arrow River. This is where we’ll play Millbrook, home of the NZ PGA. Wanaka will delight you with its laidback feel and picturesque golf course. Jack’s Point makes one of the world’s great golfing experience with the mountain range as a backdrop and an armchair view of Lake Wakapitu. You will have the chance of playing Jack’s Point twice. Finally, we visit Queenstown Golf Club, internationally regarded as one of the most picturesque golf courses in the world.

On this tour, you can opt to fly over the Southern Alps for a unique experience. You can also cruise New Zealand’s unmissable Milford Sound. We invite you to discover more about this beautiful tour.

DAY 1: Thursday 21 March QUEENSTOWN

Arrive at Queenstown Airport for your private transfer to stunning Queenstown. Sitting on the shores of Lake Wakatipu against the dramatic Southern Alps, this town is picture perfect and the perfect base to explore the South Island’s world renowned natural beauty.

We check into the Crowne Plaza Queenstown Hotel overlooking the breathtaking Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountain range. It is located right in the centre of town and across the road from the popular Steamer Wharf – home to great dining, bars, and a casino.

This evening, enjoy a fantastic welcome dinner with drinks to kick off your tour in style and get to know your fellow travellers.

DAY 2: Friday 22 March QUEENSTOWN

Today we take to the fairways of Queenstown Golf Club, known locally as Kelvin Heights. Voted New Zealand’s most scenic golf course, it is set in the amphitheatre of the famous Remarkables Mountain Range and surrounded by the pristine waters of Lake Wakatipu. The undulating fairways are framed by well-established pine trees and the signature 5th hole is sure to have you reaching for your camera. We may stay a little longer at the 19th to savour the amazing views.

Non-golfers: The day is at your leisure. Discover Queenstown at your own pace. Perhaps you’d like to take a stroll in the Queenstown Gardens, explore a nature reserve or visit one of 75 wineries – it’s up to you!

Today you will have the opportunity to choose your own adventure. There’s plenty to keep you occupied here, after all, this is the adventure capital of the world!

The journey to Milford Sound is just as spectacular as the destination itself. Setting off from Queenstown, you’ll follow in the path of the ancient Maori who used to travel to Milford Sound in search of precious pounamu (greenstone). The road to Milford Sound is one of the world’s most spectacular scenery. You’ll see ancient alpine forest, waterfalls, the famous Mirror Lakes and stunning Christie Falls.

One thing is for certain, once you arrive in Milford Sound you’ll be instantly mesmerized by the beauty of the place. You’ll cruise through the untouched wilderness of Fiordland National Park and take in the famous sights and landmarks of Milford Sound. Here, the scale is beyond comprehension. The mountains and the valleys compete with each other for room. Keep an eye out for marine life like dolphins, seals and penguins too! The fiord is dotted with waterfalls that tumble through the valleys. This is a day tour you won’t forget. Additional cost applies.

Designed by New Zealand’s doyen of golf, Sir Bob Charles, Millbrook is set in a natural, alpine amphitheatre. Featuring impeccably groomed fairways and greens, demanding hazards and meandering water courses, all surrounded by the alpine backdrop of the Remarkables Mountain Range, golf at Millbrook Resort is an exhilarating experience.

Queenstown is a beautiful destination with wonderful sites, great activities, delicious restaurants and spectacular golf courses. The tour was hosted by Graeme who could not be more obliging and friendly.

Kim and Jenny, 2017 NZ South Island

Highly recommended!

There is lots of golf and well spaced out. There is a day free to book your own activity… or not.

Anne, 2017 NZ South Island

It was a great trip. Graeme did a wonderful job. I will always recommend Go Golfing again.

Janelle, 2017 NZ South Island

Excellent tour!

Very well organised by Graeme (our host). Golf courses were THE WOW especially Jacks Point and Millbrook.

Judy, 2017 NZ South Island

The golf courses were superb, all of them. The location of the hotel in Queenstown was ideal, and what a town. Loved the lay days and the visit to Arrowtown. Final dinner was very good. Graham was an excellent host who made the whole trip run exceedingly smoothly.

Bob and Jean, 2017 NZ South Island

It is our 3rd tour to South Island NZ with Go Golfing. We just love the place. The golf courses are all amazing, especially Jack’s Point. Queenstown is the most beautiful place to just wander around the town enjoying the amazing views.

Sue and Paul, 2017 NZ South Island

Fantastic experience and well organised.

A good time was had and enjoyed everyone’s company. Accommodation was in an excellent location, just so handy to town and everything.

Kerryn, 2017 NZ South Island

We had a great time with the crew joining the south island tour. Host Graeme was again very helpful and nothing was ever a problem. All the golf courses were great and an absolute pleasure to play. Accommodation was fantastic…

Mark, 2017 NZ South Island

Our host Graeme made our trip very easy. Our fellow golfers definitely added lots of fun and good conversation. Our day doing the winery, cave, gondola and luge was something Desley will always remember as her inner daredevil came to the front and she went parasailing off the mountain. Thanks GO GOLFING for another memorable trip.
