Experience a decadent week staying at the 5-star InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, sipping champagne on your verandah overlooking the swimming lagoon and super yachts in the Marina. We look after everything for you — golf club delivery, your motorised carts, tee-off times, lunch packs, dinners, prizes, social activities and everything in between. This is your opportunity to play the members-only Pines Golf Course and enjoy the Gold Coast’s bright, sunny winter weather.
The Drummond Golf 4-Ball is a unique team event combining best ball, ambrose and aggregate competitions in handicap divisions. Single entrants are paired into teams.
Most golfers have played golf on the Gold Coast. But most haven’t played The Pines at Sanctuary Cove. Why? Because Sanctuary Cove has a ‘members only’ policy – making it among Australia’s most private and exclusive courses.
This event is extremely social! You will compete in teams of 2 and play with new teams everyday. There are over 20 singles who join us each year and all singles will be partnered up - that's our guarantee.
Earn points for your team by joining in some fancy dress. We've seen Yellow Bananas, Blue Smurfs and Green Trees (not the first time we have seen a golfer in a tree).
Restricted to 100 players, this event has a relaxed, intimate vibe. With everyone staying at the 5-star InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, you'll be meeting friendly golfers just like yourself.
Thank you Go Golfing for a highly successful and a thoroughly enjoyable event. I heard about Go Golfing’s 4Ball Challenge through friends so I decided to see what all the fuss was about, and boy was I glad I did. Go Golfing ensured that everything was looked after right down to the smallest detail. The whole week was marvellous and I would recommend Go Golfing’s unique 4Ball format to all club golfers.

Adding to the fun, your team of two will be combined with 10 other teams in an even bigger team competition. Each team is allocated a team colour and arriving at the welcome dinner, you will be amazed at some of the outfits in team theme.
The tournament will be played across 4 rounds consisting of 2 Person 4 Ball Best Ball, 2 Person Ambrose & 2 Person Aggregate. Daily prizes will be awarded to winners and runners up and Overall prizes will also be awarded to the highest combined points total for the four rounds.
As Australia’s only Arnold Palmer signature course, The Pines is recognised as one of Australia’s best and most challenging courses. Carved through 101 hectares of established pine forest, the course features corridor approaches to several holes, with lakes guarding others. Fourteen of the holes are contoured around six man-made lakes. An abundance of wildlife features on The Pines including rare bird life and scores of native Australian kangaroos.
The Palms Golf Course has recently undergone an $8.8 million reconstruction and was redesigned by renowned golf course architect Ross Watson. After its reopening in April 2011, The Palms is considered a championship course rivalling some of the best golf courses in Australia. It has a total length of 5904 metres off the championship tees, and has numerous water features and hazards. Tee placements have been designed to suit a variety of playing conditions and a diverse range of players. Nestled within century old Cabbage Palms, The Palms Golf Course is a return to the traditions of the game, with distinctive holes, deep greenside bunkers and boldly contoured greens requiring creative shot making.
Entry is open to all male and female golfers with an official handicap.
Tournament divisions will be split by Men Only, Ladies Only and Mixed Divisions. Prizes will be awarded for daily and overall within each division for winners and runners up.
Six teams (each with 12 golfers) will also be randomly drawn to form a team. Each team will be allocated a colour. There will be a prize the winning team based on the aggregate points accrued for the 4 rounds. Additional points are also awarded for the best dressed team on the welcome dinner and toward winners of the beach games and chipping and putting competitions
In partnership with GOLFLink (Australia) and International Golf Associations the tournament committee will review the 6 month playing history of all entrants. The tournament committee reserves the right to amend player handicaps.
The ‘slope handicap system’ will be utilised to calculate player handicaps for the Championship rounds. Under the slope system, the difficulty of the golf course and the tee blocks played from determine a player’s handicap prior to the start of each round.
For the enjoyment of all players, field sizes will be limited. Tips to improve speed of play and the penalties for slow play will be provided to all players.
