For a golf holiday, Italy ticks all the boxes: epic scenery, gentle sunshine, superb food and wine, amazing hospitality, a wealth of artistic and historic heritage, and beautifully designed golf courses. It is not surprising Italians call their homeland “Il Bepaese” (the beautiful country).

Go Golfing’s France and Italy luxury golf tour winds its way through the very best of Italy’s rich culture, iconic attractions and magnificent courses. Its delectable food and welcoming hospitality will live with you for years to come…

The Italian Lakes

Explore the Italian Alps and the glamorous Lake Como where magnificent lakeside villas and palazzos exude class. Lake Como has been for many centuries the playground of the sophisticated Milanese, European aristocracy and now Hollywood stars. You will see why George Clooney has made it his home town.

The lake’s deep-blue waters are set against the rugged, forested foothills of the Italian Alps. All along the coast are luxury hotels, some with swimming pools that float in the lake. Mediterranean villas with formal gardens dot the shore – an affluent world you’ll discover from a private boat cruise.

The Villa D’Este Golf Club is a timeless classic and is regarded as a jewel in the Italian golf crown. It stands 400m above sea level and passes through forests of chestnut, birch and pine trees. Our post round refreshments are in the beautiful clubhouse overlooking lake Mortonfano.

Tuscany

Tuscany is where the English founded the first Italian golf club – Florence Golf Club. Renamed Ugolino Golf Club in 1933, it is held in high esteem.

The Ugolino is typical of the golfing landscapes found in Tuscany. Fairways lined with cypress trees, silver olive groves and well protected small greens. Located on the well-known route to Chianti, the Chiantigiana Road, this course has been selected to host many prestigious tournaments over the years including the International Open in 1983.

And, Tuscany makes anyone hungry. The beauty of Tuscany’s world-famous cuisine lies in the simplicity of ingredients and recipes. A homemade egg pasta, flavoursome free-range meats grilled over wood coals, or beans slowly cooked in earthenware pots… you won’t wish for anything more. Actually, maybe one thing: one more glass of that Chianti please at our Italian cooking extravaganza.

Rome

Rome Golf in Italy

While Rome is steeped in history and famed for its many historical sites, Rome is also home to Italy’s premier courses.

Set in a quiet and scenic rural setting, you will find a little masterpiece designed by Jim Fazio. The Golf Nazionale is a must play course with a spectacular design set amongst grand oak trees.

As the saying goes, “When in Rome, do what the Romans do” – soak up the Italian way of life so well portrayed in La Dolce Vita as you walk up the Spanish Steps and lose your heart all over again to the Trevi Fountain.
