This metropolitan hub is full of character and diverse experiences. Discover its Maori heritage, indulge in some of the country’s best restaurants, and admire its stunning waterfront.

The beauty of Auckland, like anywhere in New Zealand, is you don’t have to travel far to experience white sandy beaches, awe-inspiring countryside and geothermal hotspots.

THINGS TO DO IN AUCKLAND

Wine and dine by the Viaduct Harbour

Just 10 minutes from your hotel is the beautiful waterfront precinct of the Viaduct harbour.

Once a holding spot for old fishing boats and warehouses, has now transformed into a spectacular modern marina home to luxury yachts, panoramic views of the harbour and some of the best bars and restaurants in the city.

The revamp was spurred on by New Zealand’s historic America’s Cup win in ’95 and once again that same spirit will be alive and well when the world’s famous yacht race returns in March.

Immerse yourself in New Zealand’s Māori culture

Take a walk through Auckland museum and you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the story of New Zealand, its people and its place in the Pacific.

It showcases a unique collection of pre-eminent Māori and Pacific treasures, daily cultural performances, relics from their military history and many more significant artefacts from the nation’s heritage.

Sip on delicious cocktails atop of New Zealand’s tallest man-made building

Take your Auckland experience to new heights with an unrivalled dining evening atop Sky Tower. It is the iconic centrepiece to the city’s skyline and rises some 328 metres.

Obviously, the views are second to none but the food is just as good if not better – and there is more than just one restaurant to choose from.

You could go for a spin and see Auckland from all angles at Orbit, where the dining room rotates once every hour. Alternatively, you could enjoy the sensational flavours and textures of The Sugar Club, an award-winning restaurant that serves up some of the best cocktails in town.
