ITINERARY:
DAY 1: Saturday 14 April
Emirates flights arrive early morning. You will be met at the airport and transferred to our hotel. Afternoon Sightseeing City of merchants - orientation tour of Dubai city. A fascinating historical excursion; our route takes us from Burj Al Arab, Dubai’s landmark hotel to the Jumeirah Mosque for a photo opportunity and continue on past the magnificent Zabeel Palace on the way. Further on, we visit the Al Fahidi Fort, a 200-year-old structure that houses the Dubai Museum. We continue our journey on a traditional abra, across the Creek, offering sights of a modern metropolis, with splendid architecture on its banks, dwarfing the bustling alleys of our next destination - the gold and spice souks. Tonight we gather for our welcome dinner in the Park Regis Kris Kin, a festive menu and wines and get to know your fellow tour members.
DAY 2: Sunday 15 April
Breakfast will be served in Le Metro Restaurant before we transfer to Dubai Creek Golf Course. Superbly manicured fairways are undulating, demarcated by mounds, date and palm trees, and most other times by water. Apart from the Creek, which comes into play on at least four holes, several lakes add to the beauty and playability. This afternoon and evening is at leisure.
DAY 3: Monday 16 April
A hearty breakfast and then onto the stunning Al Badia golf course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones II to capture the character and beauty of Arabia, an oasis theme was adopted featuring an abundance of water, rivers of sand and plants indigenous to the region. Whilst the course provides plenty of challenge for the seasoned player, it is also a welcoming course for the recreational golfer. Non golfers enjoy high tea at the Burj Al Arab and day tour. Afternoon/evening at leisure.
DAY 4: Tuesday 17 April
Today we experience Dubai fast and furious! Whilst our day is at leisure the mysterious desert will beckon for a magical evening out. Our guides will transport us by four-wheel drive vehicles for a thrilling journey over rolling dunes deep in the heart of the desert. Watch the sun cast its orange glow over the vast expanse of rippling sand all around you as it sets. Like a shimmering mirage in the distance, you will see the flickering lights of your camp where a traditional Arabian welcome awaits you - have your hands painted with intricate henna designs, experience a short camel ride or just enjoy the aromatic shisha. Our feast will be served under a galaxy of stars and we’ll be entertained by bewitching belly dancers swaying to the haunting strains of Arabian music. You won’t want this enchanting evening to end!
DAY 5: Wednesday 18 April
The magnificent Montgomery Golf Course is in our sights today. The course provides the player with undulating "links land" style fairways with generous landing areas which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. Plenty of shape throughout the greens can result in some very trying putts.
DAY 6: Thursday 19 April
Today is moving day. A scenic coastal desert drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. An interesting insight into the modern interpretation of Arabian architecture will be found in the blend of skyscrapers, villas and palaces that line our route. Highlights include the heritage village and a visit to the futuristic Yas Hotel—home to the formula 1 race circuit. This evening we check into Crowne Plaza Yas Island. Evening at leisure.
DAY 7: Friday 20 April
A real golfing treat this morning at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. Designed by golfing legend Gary Player, the SBGC is the Arabian Golf’s first and only ocean course. Taking it’s cue from nature, the course features several beach-front holes with spectacular views of crystal blue waters and pristine white sands. Keep an eye out for the local turtle community! Afternoon and evening at leisure.
DAY 8: Saturday 21 April
A fitting finale to our Arabian golf experience. Today we take to the manicured fairways of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club. The layout weaves through undulating terrain that features pockets of palms, ornamental trees and shrubs, as well as seven spectacular saltwater lakes, strategically placed bunkers and generous greens making it an enjoyable round for all players. This evening we’ll celebrate our winners at the acclaimed Finz restaurant. Located at the end of a jetty overlooking the sea, a sumptuous dinner awaits in a stylish setting.
DAY 9: Sunday 22 April
We have a full day to enjoy some of Abu Dhabi’s favourite day tours.. “Encounter with a Winged Wonder” or a “Day in the Dunes”. Both optional tours take in some of Abu Dhabi’s iconic pastimes—the majestic falcons that are synonymous with the region during a tour to the Falcon hospital and an insight to the sport of falconry. Alternatively, you can discover the excitement behind one of the UAE’s revered cultural sports of camel racing. (See booking form for pricing) Evening at leisure.
DAY 10: Monday 23 April
Our return to Dubai includes a charming sightseeing tour that takes in Al Ain , once an essential stop along the caravan trail since time began. Today Al Ain has become a beautiful garden oasis. Archaelogical digs dating back 5000 years in Hili and a real Arabian adventure at the camel market on our return to Dubai. This afternoon we check in to the Four Points by Sheraton hotel to freshen up prior to our Moonlight Sonata—Dhow cruise with dinner. Our cruise aboard this traditional vessel offers an intriguing view of this amazing city—a portrait of the true character of Dubai, the intertwining of the old and the new and a taste of true Arabian hospitality.
DAY 11: Tuesday 24 April
Following breakfast we’ll transfer to the airport for our homebound flights. If you are thinking about extending your tour, Go Golfing Travel can provide you with an obligation free quotation.
