ITINERARY:
Day 1:
Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport at 15.30pm for transfer to Pretoria. Welcome dinner at the hotel where we’ll get to know each other. Travel time (Airport to Pretoria = 50 Minutes.) Centurion Lake Hotel. (D)
Day 2:
Breakfast. Morning at leisure. Early light lunch included. Afternoon guided tour of Soweto with a local expert township tour guide. Visit the Hector Petersen Memorial, Mandela house, Vilikazi Street, a youth township programme, with entrance fees included. Return to Pretoria. Dinner at the guest house. (B,L,D)
Day 3:
Late Morning transfer to Entabeni Private Game Reserve in the Waterberg (3.5 hour’s drive.) Lunch at the Lodge. Sunset game drive with open safari vehicles and a nature guide in the 22 000 ha malaria free area of this private game reserve. Dinner. Lakeside lodge or Ravineside lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 4:
Morning safari in open game vehicles with your nature guide in the private game reserve. Lunch. A special treat awaits us this afternoon with a sunset game drive in the private game reserve—we’ll be sure to see elephants, lions, giraffes & leopards which are prevalent in the reserve. Following our safari enjoy a hearty dinner at the lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 5:
Morning short game drive in the game reserve. After breakfast you are transferred to the Legend Golf and Spa Resort for a midday round of golf at the Legend Golf Course. Home to the unique "world –in one" signature course where each of the 18 holes has been designed by a world golfing great. The extreme 19th will long remain in your memory a with heli flight to the tee 400m above the green. Non-golfers can enjoy optional extras: tour of the Pedi Cultural Village OR an extra game drive OR spa treatments (at own expense) (B, L—golfers)
Day 6:
After breakfast return by road to Johannesburg for the flight to Durban in the afternoon. Your afternoon is free to explore picturesque Durban. Riverside Hotel. (B)
Day 7:
Morning round of golf at Durban CC, the only course on the continent to be rated among the top 100 in the world. Views over the Indian Ocean, undulating fairways and sand dunes make for a unique experience. This afternoon we visit to a Zulu Cultural Village. Non-golfers can enjoy an interesting city tour of Durban (at own expense). (B, L—golfers)
Day 8:
Morning visit to the Ushaka Marine World. Afternoon golf at Zimbali GC nestled amongst the ocean and forest with exceptional wetland features. Non-golfers may visit the Gateway Shopping Centre in the afternoon. (B, L-golfers)
Day 9:
Check out of the hotel after breakfast and head to the King Shaka Airport. We then take a flight to Cape Town (2 hours). Once in Cape Town we’ll visit the top of Table Mountain by cable car and continue our journey to picturesque Winelands area. Devon Valley Hotel. (B)
Day 10:
Morning round of golf in the wine lands at Erinvale GC. Designed by South Africa’s father of golf, Gary Player we’ll enjoy majestic mountain backdrops, panoramic views and whilst the character of each nine
differs superbly shaped greens with true putting surfaces are consistent. Non-golfers to visit the town of Stellenbosch and Franschoek, known for the French Huguenot museum. Afternoon picnic lunch at one of the region’s wineries for all. Overnight in the wine lands. (B, L)
Day 11:
Check out of hotel and we’ll enjoy a scenic drive along the Garden Route to George. We’ll arrive late afternoon with time to relax at the stunning Oubaai Hyatt Regency hotel overlooking the ocean. (B) Day 12: Wed: 21 Sept: Morning round of golf at the Pinnacle Point GC in Mosselbay. Set on the edge of a magnificent coastline at the gateway to the Garden Route. Dramatic Cliffside holes and immaculately presented greens will both challenge and inspire you. Non-golfers visit an ostrich show farm in Oudtshoorn. Afternoon visit to the Diaz Caravel museum for all. Overnight back
at Oubaai. (B, L—golfers)
Day 13:
Morning round of golf at the Oubaai GC near George. A traditional links style layout requiring a full range of shots to score well. The signature 17th will test your concentration skills with whales often sighted breaching in the Indian Ocean. Non-golfers may undertake a private tour with a local tour guide to Knysna (optional). In the afternoon we’ll re-unite to visit the Transport Museum in George and enjoy a Power Van rail trip up the Outeniqua Mountains. (B, L– golfers)
Day 14:
Return to Cape Town via the N2 Highway with a stop at Hermanus for land based whale watching (Southern Right Whales.) Overnight in Cape Town. Portswood Hotel. (B)
Day 15:
Morning at leisure to visit the V&A Waterfront or an optional extra tour to Robben Island at 09h00 for your own account. This afternoon we’ll take an insightful city tour of Cape Town. (B)
Day 16:
Half day tour to Cape Point and Boulders penguin beach. Return to the V&A Waterfront for last minute shopping. Evening return transfers for dinner at 18h30. Farewell dinner with complimentary wines. We’ll celebrate our winners and recant our wonderful experiences. (B,D)
Day 17:
Early transport to the airport for your connecting flight to Johannesburg and onward journey. (B)
