2011 ITINERARY:
Day 1 -April 6 2011
Arrival into Saigon International Airport. Go Golfing's own travel agent Go Golfing Travel can arrange flights from your nearest capital city. Upon arrival we will be met and transferred to our hotel, Majestic Saigon. Get to know everyone at the rooftop at the Saigon Majestic Hotel with a sumptuous buffet and wines. Group briefing. (D)
Day 2— April 7 2011
A leisurely breakfast and then we will tour Cu Chi Tunnels, the underground network built by the Vietcong Guerillas. Back in Saigon we'll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then a tour of this amazing city including reunification palace, war museum, lacquer ware factory and Notredame Cathedral. (B/L)
Day 3—April 8 2011
An early breakfast before we tackle Song Be Golf Course, widely regarded as the most challenging and stimulating in the country. This afternoon and evening we are free to take in the sights, sounds and vibrant culture of Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), bustling with sidewalk cafes, markets and motorbikes. Take a peddy cab tour to see back road residents of Saigon or water puppet show. This evening we have our welcome dinner with Calcutta auction at Hoi An Restaurant. (B/D)
Day 4—April 9 2011
An early start as we travel to the Mekong Delta and gain an incredible insight of what it is like to live along this maze like myriad of canals. After cruising along small shady canals, we step ashore and take a chance to watch a typical and interesting music show of the Mekong cultural life. Lunch is at the home/ bonsai garden. (B/L)
Day 5—April 10 2011
Early breakfast and then we'll transfer to golf for our round at Vietnam Golf & Country Club. Lunch at course for own expense. Afternoon at leisure. This evening we have a wonderful dinner cruise available as an optional extra (please nominate on booking form). (B)
Day 6—April 11 2011
After breakfast we drive down from Saigon to the beach resort village of Phan Thiet and check in at the Novotel Hotel. Situated on the beach adjacent to the South China Sea, overlooking the Ocean Dunes Golf Club – relaxation here we come. (B)
Day 7—April 12 2011
Enjoy an early morning round of golf at Novotel Ocean Dunes designed by Nick Faldo. The course layout makes the most of the natural terrain, stunning views and ocean breezes. This afternoon we will be free to enjoy Vietnam's best beach before a delicious seafood buffet dinner in the resort gardens. (B/D)
Day 8—April 13 2011
Today we play Vietnams' only true links style course, the recently opened Sea Links Golf Course. Drawing from well known links course Carnoustie and perfectly positioned on the coast of Vietnam golfers are able to enjoy this style of course all year unlike their northern counterparts. (B)
Day 9—April 14 2011
Morning free at leisure and then we take a scenic coach drive to Dalat (5 hours) with a picnic lunch along the way. Located about five thousand feet above sea level, Dalat enjoys a cool climate that doesn't burn the sensitive bent grass--or wear out golfers. After our group arrival we'll tour around Dalat and visit the Crazy House, Bao Dai summer palace and local handicrafts. This evening we'll enjoy a group dinner a a local Vietnamese restaurant (own expense). (B)
Day 10—April 15 2011
This morning is spent at Dalat Golf Palace. The only bent grass course (from tee to greens) in the region, it offers golfers the experience of golfing under the same conditions as world-class courses like Augusta. After a successful round of golf, we'll enjoy complimentary snacks at our golfing presentation. Afternoon and evening at leisure. (B)
Day 11—April 16 2011
Relaxing breakfast at Sofitel Dalat Palace before we play our second round at Dalat Palace Course. Presentations and post golf snacks after our round. Evening at leisure. (B)
Day 12—April 17 2011
This morning we are at leisure before our afternoon flight to Hanoi. Transfer to Sheraton Hanoi and evening at leisure. We can recommend a number of local restaurants. (B)
Day 13—April 18 2011
Today we will enjoy a sightseeing tour to visit the city's landmarks such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, The Temple of Literature and 1 hour cyclo ride. With time in the afternoon for a walk around Hanoi old quarter for shopping and short visit to Dong Xuan market and Hoan Kiem lake. (B)
Day 14—April 19 2011
We'll travel to King Island Golf Course for a round of golf at one of the country's finest golf resorts. The course is designed to fit the setting's natural contours. The design takes maximum advantage of the ambience of the waterside setting, distant mountains and surrounding trees. Access to the course is via boat. (B)
Day 15—April 20 2011
An exciting day ahead – pack down to your overnight bag before you leave. After breakfast we will travel to the Chi Linh Star Golfing Resort. Lunch at course following golf (own expense) before we board a traditional junk for our overnight cruise through picturesque Halong Bay. Dinner on board. (B/D)
Day 16—April 21 2011
Breakfast on board and we continue our cruise which will provide us a fantastic view of the 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. The limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. This afternoon we will return to the Sheraton Hanoi for some last minute shopping and local sight seeing before our farewell dinner. (B/D)
Day 17—April 22 2011
Breakfast and prepare for departure home or onward travels. (B)
