2011 ITINERARY:
Day 1:
Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport at approximately 4pm and we are transported to The Schoongezich Guest Complex Pretoria. Time to freshen up before welcome dinner, tourist introductions and tour briefing. (travel time from airport approx 50 minutes.) (D)
Day 2:
After breakfast we have a very interesting historical tour of Pretoria including Voortrekker Monument, Paul Kruger House, Church Square and Union Buildings with expert commentary, followed by an afternoon round of golf at Silver Lakes including golfers lunch. Non-golfers visit Menlyn Park Shopping Centre, (one of the largest shopping complexes in the southern hemisphere). Entrance fees to for Voortrekker Monument, Kruger House and Pretoria City Tour included. (B/Golfers Lunch/D)
Day 3:
Group tour photo before we depart - WEAR TOUR SHIRT. We depart to Hartebeespoort Dam for a late morning round of golf at Pecanwood Golf Course, the first Jack Nicklaus golf course in Africa, plus half way house lunch. Non-golfers have an exciting visit to the Lesedi Cultural Village and the craft markets at Hartebeespoort Dam. After golf, we depart for the drive to Sun City, South Africa's Kingdom of Pleasure, it offers: excellent sport facilities, gambling, water theme park, shops, restaurants, spa, and game reserve. Day 4:
We have the full day at leisure to further enjoy what Sun City has to offer: Tour the Palace of the Lost City; High Tea; Valley of the Waves; Casinos or optional round of golf at the Lost City Course. Optional Dinner and Extravaganza Show (B)
Day 5:
After breakfast we tee off at the impressive South African No. 1 Gary Player layout with the aid of an experienced caddy and golfers lunch included. Afternoon and evening at leisure. Non-golfers indulge in some of the many pleasures available at the Sun City complex. (B/Golfers Lunch)
Day 6:
The Golfers tee-off at today at the magical Lost City GC. Beware crocodile moat surrounds Hole 13. (Halfway lunch included). Non-golfers indulge in some of the many pleasures available at Sun City. Arrive back in Pretoria in the late afternoon. (B/D)
Day 7:
We depart early towards the 2 million hectare Kruger National Game Park. After booking into our traditional rondarvels, we then go on a late afternoon 3 hour evening game drive in the park's game vehicles with experienced trackers before returning for dinner. (B/Golfers Lunch/D)
Day 8:
We have a 2hr morning game drive in Private Open Safari Game vehicles. Then return for a full buffet breakfast. After breakfast we plan further game viewing in our own private vehicles. On our private tours we have seen ALL of the "Big Five" plus, plus, plus! (B/D)
Day 9:
After breakfast we have a final game drive in the coach before we head back to Pretoria. Lunch en-route for own account. Afternoon at leisure. (B/D)
Day 10:
After breakfast we depart back to the Johannesburg airport for our 12:45h—13:00h connecting flight of 2h to Cape Town (included). Upon arrival we visit Table Mountain for sightseeing and weather permitting a early bird bonus Cable Car ride to the top. We then book into the centrally located City Lodge at the V&A Waterfront. (B)
Day 11:
In the morning we have an early round at Atlantic Beach Golf Course (qualifying course for the British Open –golfers snack lunch included). Non-golfers have the morning at leisure to explore more of the delights of the waterfront. In the afternoon we all re-unite for a historic tour of the Cape Town City Centre and the cable car up Table Mountain if we missed out earlier. Dinner that evening will be at one of the many superb restaurants at the waterfront, at own expense. (B/Golfers Lunch)
Day 12:
Early morning departure for the whole group to the wine lands for a round of golf at Paarl Golf Club. The non-golfers have time to explore Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa. After golf we will all enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch at the Vredenheim wine estate included. (B/L)
Day 13:
After breakfast a long but interesting journey along the Garden Route, via Mosselbay to George then onto Knysna. We stop for sightseeing and lunch along the way. Dinner included at the Waterfront in Knysna. (B/D)
Day 14:
Early breakfast and excursion at the Knysna Elephant Sanctuary - "you'll be touched!" Then to "Simola" a Jack Nicklaus course overlooking the Knysna Heads + golfers lunch. Non-golfers at leisure to visit the waterfront. (B/Golfers Lunch)
Day 15:
After breakfast we take on the breathtaking Pezula course on the side of the Indian Ocean - truly spectacular - take your camera! Half way house lunch included. Tonight we enjoy seafood buffet dinner while cruising the Knysna Lagoon on the historic 'John Benn'. (B/Golfers Lunch/D)
Day 16:
We visit the Knysna Hollow for another full buffet breakfast (en-route) then back to Cape Town via the N2. Lunch en-route (not included). On the way we pass Dolphin Point and through scenic Hermanus. A mid-afternoon arrival back in Cape Town leaves time for a further visit to the waterfront and all it's delights. (B)
Day 17:
Today we go to the tip of Cape of Good Hope and then Boulders Penguin Beach at Simons Town. In the afternoon there is an opportunity to visit the V&A Waterfront or enjoy an optional Robben Island Tour (Visit Nelson Mandella's cell). Tonight we have our Farewell Dinner and Prize Presentations. Wines included at the Heidleberg Restaurant, overlooking the bay. (B/D)
Day 18:
After breakfast we have the morning at leisure for a final look around Cape Town before departing to the airport for our connecting flight to Johannesburg (included) and onward journey. Group airfare flight departs Johannesburg at 18:05pm (South African Airways).
