2017 Hawaiian Islands Fully Escorted Golf Cruise

02 – 09 September 2017

8 Days – 7 Nights – 4 Rounds of Golf

Optional 5-day / 4-night Honolulu Pre-Tour

Aloha! Come aboard Pride of America for the best way to island hop Hawaii. Cruise in style, with 14 restaurants, 9 bars and lounges, spacious suites and lots of balconies – perfect for whale watching, witnessing Ko Lauea volcano or taking in the dramatic view of the Napali Coast. As the only U.S.- flagged cruise ship in 50 years, Pride of America offers a one-of-a-kind itinerary that visits four of Hawaii’s best islands, including Maui and Kauai.

Play arguably four of the Hawaiian Islands most spectacular golf courses. Feel like a pro at Poipu Bay Golf Course in Kauai, where Tiger Woods played in the PGA Grand Slam. Or enjoy Kapalua, the Plantation Course, ranked as the #1 golf course in Hawaii and home to the PGA TOUR’s Hyundai Tournament of Champions. It is said to rival Pebble Beach views. Also on offer, Mauna Lani’s North Course 17th hole is tucked into a natural lava amphitheatre whereas the King Kamehameha Golf Club is the only private 18-hole golf course in Maui. It sits at 750 feet above sea level offering Haleakala, as well as magnificent ocean views.

Cruising is an all inclusive holiday solution and with Pride of America’s extensive selection of restaurants, entertainment and activities your every wish is their command! Come early and spend more time in Honolulu. Enjoy 4 nights at the Westin Moana Surfrider and golf at Ko Olina Golf Club and Turtle Bay Palmer Course, two of Oahu’s most prized courses.

2017 Hawaiian Islands Fully Escorted Golf Cruise

02 – 09 September 2017

8 Days – 7 Nights – 4 Rounds of Golf

Optional 5-day / 4-night Honolulu Pre-Tour

We recommend flights arriving into Oahu, Honolulu before 12pm. On arrival you will be transferred to Pier 2 Cruise Terminal to board the Pride of America. This evening get settled in and meet some of your fellow travellers over welcome drinks and dinner.

Upon arrival in Maui, our first round is at Kapalua Golf Club, The Plantation course. Few golf courses in the world give you views like the Plantation Course. The West Maui Mountains are behind you, and the Pacific Ocean is seen from just about every shot you will play. This 7,411-yard par 73 is beautiful, challenging and demands creativity.

For those who don’t fancy the golf course, Kahului is the biggest town of Maui with a population of 17,000 inhabitants. Outside of the city you can visit the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum, which allows the visitor a look back to a life on Hawai ́i long gone. Maui originally consisted of two separate islands. The isthmus that was created between those two islands by erosion gave Maui the name ́The Valley Island ́.

Today you play your second round at King Kamehameha Golf Club. The course works with nature. It will challenge you to use every club in your bag. Best yet, sitting at 750 feet above sea level, it offers spectacular views to the ocean. The King Kamehameha Golf Club follows Robinson’s philosophy: the golfer attacks, the designer defends.

Gaze up from this charming town and see snow-capped Mauna Kea volcano. It´s just one of the scenic marvels in this exotic greenhouse of lush tropical plants, towering banyan trees, thundering falls and enough flowers to fill a rainbow. Arid deserts, steaming fissures and volcanoes that blow their tops are just as impressive.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION: Circle of Fire plus Waterfalls Helicopter Tour

Are you ready for a flight you will never forget? After the ship docks in Hilo Bay, board your transfer to the Hilo airport for a 50-min helicopter tour high above the only active volcano in Hawaii. You’ll see many sites that are inaccessible by land, making this a truly remarkable experience.
As you fly over the island, you’ll see firsthand the lifecycle of the Hawaiian Islands, from rocky volcano to lush rainforests. As you arrive at the volcano, you’ll see volcanic steam vents, flowing lava and the destruction of more than 30 years of eruptions. Fly over housing subdivisions that have been taken out by Mt Kialuea and see the massive Pu`u O`o Vent, offering a glimpse inside the volcano. View lava flows, tropical rainforests and cascading waterfalls while learning about the history and culture of Hawaii. (Tour routes and sights may vary according to wind and weather conditions. Volcanic activity varies hourly) (*additional cost)

Next stop, Kona. Your third round awaits you as you head off to play at Mauna Lani’s – North Course. This golf course in Hawaii is characterised by rolling terrain punctuated by Kiawe (mesquite) forests and represents the quintessential golf experience on the Big Island. Built on a lava bed, this championship Number 17 with a par three tucked into a natural lava amphitheatre, is one of Mauna Lani’s signature holes.

Non-golfers on this day can enjoy the sun-blessed Kona coast that stretches 80 miles along macadamia nut orchards, famous coffee plantations and some of the most important sites in Hawaiian history. Captain Cook came ashore here and died at the hands of angry natives. The coast is also famous for water sports, and the Hawaiian Ironman is a world-renowned annual event.

A unique and unforgettable experience awaits you at your last stopover in Kauai. Your final round, Poipu Bay Golf Course is a course unlike any other! Situated on the sunny south shore of Kauai, this outstanding course is backed by lush emerald mountains and sculpted from rolling plateau eight stories above the Pacific Ocean. From native nene geese and rare Hawaiian monk seals to green turtles and humpback whales, you’ll have lots of wild excuses to back your scorecard, even the most focused golfer will be challenged by the breathtaking views.

From the soaring cliffs of the Napali Coast to the chasms of Waimea Canyon Kauai enchants the sense like no other destination. Explore the sacred ´Garden Island,´ the sweet smell of mokihana berries permeates the air and the lush green landscape intoxicates the senses. At Waimea Canyon, the union of water, sunshine, clouds and canyon walls creates the most colorful rainbows imaginable. This is where native Hawaiians come for the scenery.

Welcome back to Honolulu. This morning we disembark the Pride of America and take with us great memories and new friendships. Transfers will be provided to Honolulu airport and we recommend flights after 11am.
