 DAY 1: Monday 12 September – PARIS

Welcome to Paris – City of Light

Group transfer* from Charles de Gaulle Airport to your luxury hotel, Edouard VII in the magnificent Opera district. Join your host for a welcome cocktail and a welcome gourmet dinner with wine pairing.

*Ensure your arrival is no later than 2pm for a 3pm group transfer.


DAY 2: Tuesday 13 September – PARIS

Your trip starts with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower for an endless view over Parisian rooftops. Then, lose yourself in the treasures of the world renowned Louvre Museum. The Mona Lisa awaits you. In the evening, become acquainted with the city of lights with a glittering dinner cruise along the Seine. Paris at night is at its best.


DAY 3: Wednesday 14 September – PARIS

After breakfast, step back into French history when you visit the grand Chantilly Château, one of the jewels of French heritage. It holds the largest stables in Europe and overlooks the Chantilly racecourse. Start your entrée into golf French golf history in spectacular fashion with the # 1 European golf course, Morfontaine, an exclusive and private members-only club. This is a rare and exclusive opportunity to play the most beautiful golf course in Continental Europe. This is 18 holes of sheer golfing pleasure. Lunch pack included. Evening at leisure.

DAY 4: Thursday 15 September  – PARIS

This morning you have a free day so follow your heart through the streets of Paris. Lose yourself through the crooked medieval streets of the Old Marais Quarter alive with cafes, restaurants, trendy shops and art galleries. Or maybe make your way to Sacre-Coeur Basilica and Montmartre, home to many artists, where you can get your portrait done in the Place du Tertre. Late afternoon, it is time to visit a Parisian private cave where you’ll meet a famous sommelier for a wine “Tour de France” and enjoy a harmony of French foods. We are told there is no need to dine after this sumptuous tasting, which lasts more than two hours.


DAY 5: Friday 16 September  – LOIRE VALLEY

Time to make your way to the majestic Château de Versailles. Amid magnificently landscaped formal gardens, this splendid and expansive palace was built in the mid-17th century during the reign of Louis XIV to project the absolute power of the French monarchy, then at the height of its glory. Transfer to the prestigious Golf National set on some prime land surrounding Versailles for an afternoon round of golf. Play this newly renovated golf course that is set to host the 2018 Ryder Cup.

Check into the Hotel Château de Breuil. Enjoy a gourmet dinner at the Château restaurant.


Day 6: Saturday 17 September – LOIRE VALLEY

Meander through some of the Loire Valley delights with a visit and wine tasting at a Loire Winery followed by a visit to the Château de Chambord, a historical retreat for the French Kings. This evening is earmarked by a unique and exclusive experience: a private gastronomic dinner in the Château de Chenonceau together with garden light show.


DAY 7: Sunday 18 September  – BORDEAUX

Check out and Transfer to the Bordeaux region, the world’s capital of wine, to play the Golf du Médoc, Les Châteaux course. Fittingly, each hole is named after a Médoc vintage but the style of the course is anything but French. The course is routed across flat open country in the fashion of an inland link.

Check into the Hotel Burdigala. Evening at leisure.


Day 8: Monday 19 September  – BORDEAUX

Today you play the 5 star St Emilion golf club. Designed by one of the best architects in the world, Tom Doak, this exceptional golf course unfolds in a valley fringed by centenary oak trees, framed by vineyards and located just 10 km from the village of Saint Emilion. A new experience in France that combines the “art de vivre à la française” with the British way of playing golf. On from there, visit the beautiful Saint Emilion village, a UNESCO World Heritage site, including underground access. Much of St Emilion is hidden from view, deep underground in a labyrinth of passages, rooms and its famous buried monolithic church. By that time, you would have worked up an appetite and this is when we transfer to a Grand Cru Château for a private gastronomic dinner.


DAY 9: Tuesday 20 September  – CANNES

Meet your guide for a Bordeaux city tour. Bordeaux earnt the title of 2015 Europe’s best destination. Half of the entire city is Unesco-listed, making it the largest urban World Heritage Site. It is a stunning city with an outstanding selection of bistros, brasseries and world class restaurants. Check out and it is time to fly to Nice. Check into the Hotel Majestic Cannes. Evening at leisure.


DAY 10: Wednesday 21 September  – CANNES

Welcome to the south of France, home to seaside promenades and mountain top villages that seem to have been trapped in time. You can look forward to indulging in a host of simple pleasures and a few luxurious ones too. This morning you transfer to Monte Carlo, the playground of choice for the rich and famous, where you visit the “Rocher” and Palace. After lunch, you go to Nice via the ancient village Eze. Perched on rock 1,400 feet above sea level, this superb “eagle’s nest” offers fabulous views of Cap Ferrat and the Côte d’Azur. Visit the Old Nice with its narrow, shadowy streets, cozy squares, baroque churches and jumble of pastel houses. For a little treat, finish up in Picasso Museum in Antibes. Evening at leisure.


DAY 11: Thursday 22 September – CANNES

It is time to mingle with the locals and be tempted by the local produce on offer at a typical Provence market before you tee off at the historic Old Course Cannes-Mandelieu. Founded in 1891 by the Grand Duke Michael of Russia who found refuge in Cannes after being forced into exile by Tsar Alexander III, it is the oldest golf course on the Côte d’Azur (Riviera). Since then, Lords, Dukes, Counts, Princes and Kings were eager to discover it. Jerry Lewis and Sean Connery have also attended tournaments. It is modelled along St Andrews course in Scotland. Crossing the Siagne River in a ferry boat adds a certain charm to the game of golf.

Transfer to Mougins quaint little town where you will dine at a local restaurant.


DAY 12: Friday 23 September – CANNES

Today we visit the Lérins Island on the Mediterranean sea. Tiny and traffic free, the island is an oasis of peace and tranquility, a world away from the hustle and bustle of the Riviera. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the island with gourmet local products. Take back to the water for a cruise along the Esterel coast back to Cannes. Evening at leisure.


DAY 13: Saturday 24 September  – CANNES

Another full day of golf and entertainment in the adult playground of France, starting with a visit to Grasse, the international capital of perfume.You will find the gentle heat of the Mediterranean sun has warmed up the earth so that the sunset is scented with delicate fragrance of jasmine, centifolia-rose, mimosa, orange-blossom and violet fields. That perfume could never be bottled, and nor the moment.

In the afternoon, transfer to at the prestigious Cannes Mougins golf club, a private club ranked as one of the best in Europe. Set in a wonderful Provençal landscape, the course designed by Robert van Hagge offers an exciting layout requiring an excellent club selection to avoid the water hazards and naturally sloping terrain. Evening at leisure.


DAY 14 – Sunday 25 September  – LAKE COMO

Time to check out of the Majestic Hotel and make your way to Italy passing by the beautiful Bay of Angels, Nice. Stop in Genoa for lunch and arrive at the spectacular Lake Como. In the shadow of the snow-covered Alps, Lago di Como is a most spectacular lake with its squiggly shoreline is scattered with quaint villages.

Check into the Hotel Barchetta and retreat to your lake-view room to enjoy the views. Evening at leisure.


DAY 15 – Monday 26 September – LAKE COMO

Your round today is at the No.1 golf course in Italy, Golf Villa D’Este. This timeless classic is regarded as a jewel in the Italian golfing crown. The beautiful 18-hole course designed by Peter Gannon winds its way through chestnut, ash and pine trees. It is considered one of the most challenging and difficult par 69’s in Europe. Transfer to Lake Como harbour for a private boat cruise. Evening at leisure.


DAY 16 – Tuesday 27 September – VENICE

Time to leave Lake Como and make our way to Verona, the City of Love, where you visit the Arena di Verona and Casa di Julietta. Transfer to the city of water, Venice, where you board your private boat transfer to check into your 5-star hotel, Hotel Stucky. Enjoy a relaxing roof top cocktail with views of the Venetia islands. Evening at leisure.

DAY 17 – Wednesday 28 September – VENICE

Transfer by boat to the famous Piazza San Marco for you to explore. After lunch, enjoy a gondola experience in the wonderful and mysterious water alleys of Venice. Visit the famous Doge Palace, on the main landmarks of Venice. Free afternoon with guide in San Marco. Evening at leisure.


Day 18: Thursday 29 September  – FLORENCE

Board your boat transfer to Murano, homeland to Italy’s burgeoning glass industry. You will find intricate and individual designs of every colour and style. Time to move onto Florence. On arrival to Florence, check in at Hotel Villa Medicis. Evening at leisure.


Day 19: Friday 30 September – FLORENCE

By now, golfers will be itching for their golfing fix and play the mighty Ugolino Golf Course. Built in 1933, it has been rated as one of the 50 most beautiful courses in the world. The layout of the course uses the natural topography of Tuscany and harmoniously sits in the beautiful landscape. The course has hosted many international tournaments over its lengthy history including a scintillating play-off between Bernhard Langer and Steve Ballesteros. Enjoy a guided tour of the Palazzo Pitti, home to the grand Medicis, and the famous Boboli gardens. Evening at leisure.


Day 20: Saturday 01 October  – ROME

It is time to leave Florence and head over to Castello Wine Château in Tuscany for an Italian cooking lesson and gourmet lunch and wine tasting. Transfer to the Italian capital, Rome, where you visit the Vatican and the Vatican museum. Check into the Hotel La Griffe Roma. Evening at leisure.


Day 21: Sunday 02 October – ROME

For our final round, we head over to the Golf Nazionale. The club is home to a fabulous 18-hole championship course designed by George Fazio and his nephew Jim Fazio. From start to finish it is as natural and scenic a test of golf as you’ll find in all of Italy with many stretches resembling the best healthland courses of Britain and Ireland.

In the afternoon, relive a bygone era of the Roman Empire with a visit to one of the most iconic Italian landmark- the Colosseum, constructed for the staging of deadly gladiator combats. The ruins of the Roman Fiori is where Mark Antony gave his oration in Shakespeare’s play after Julius Caesar’s assassination. For the romantics, we finish up at the Fountain of Trevi and the Spanish Steps.

Tonight we gather for our farewell dinner, a celebration of our time in France and Italy. Time to salute our victors and reflect on the fascinating places we’ve immersed ourselves in.


Day 22: Monday 03 October – ROME

Time to bid farewell to Rome. Prepare for your group transfer* to Rome airport for your onward journey home. Go Golfing Travel can assist you with any pre and post tour travel arrangements.

*Group transfers scheduled for 6pm.

OPTIONAL: Extend your stay and play on Monday Roma Acquasanta. It  is not only one of the most prestigious clubs in the country and a wonderful place to play golf, but also Italy’s oldest golf course. Laid out over an enchanting parkland landscape with views of the Roman Acquaduct arches, the course seems suspended in time as the modern world goes by. The course plays fairly tightly with trees, the meandering river Almone and intelligently places bunkers coming into play at many holes.
