Ladbrokes Gold Coast World Masters Golf Tournament

25 – 30 October 2015

At Go Golfing we love a party, and while we don’t always need a reason, we think the World Masters turning 20 deserves a huge celebration – and you’re invited. New courses, new accommodation and new sponsors combine to give you the best ever World Masters experience.

Over the past 19 years more than 13,000 golfers from 28 countries have travelled to the Gold Coast to enjoy the golf, competition, fun, friendship and hospitality synonymous with Australia’s best ‘week of golf’.

We welcome Ladbrokes as the title sponsor for the next 3 years, and their major support will see you play the Gold Coast’s TOP 4 courses. In a major coup, for the first time you will play the private, members-only, The Pines at Sanctuary Cove. This is where Norman, Nicklaus, Palmer and Player in their prime played the richest Skins tournaments. Sanctuary Cove is also where Adam Scott honed his skills and still calls home. You will be impressed.

Links Hope Island – host of the Johnnie Walker Classic won by Ernie Els, the Greg Norman designed Glades and the newly re-designed RACV Royal Pines Resort combine for the ultimate golf experience. Expect VIP service as we transfer you to golf each day and valet your clubs from course to course.

The World Masters also has a new home. Mercure Gold Coast Resort, surrounded by Palm Meadows and Lakelands courses, has undergone a $30 million makeover and the accommodation, restaurants and services offered to golfers are world-class. Rooms are $30 a night cheaper than last year and check out all the added benefits guests staying at Mercure will enjoy.

Celebrate every night! Opening night will be an Aussie BBQ under the stars with fireworks and world class comedy. The 19th Hole is back – better than ever – poolside at Mercure Resort. Enjoy a golf trivia night, beach party and country & western theme nights as well as craft beer and wine tastings. Pub pricing for drinks will save you plenty. View all the day’s golfing action and results on the big screen.

The Ladbrokes World Masters is open to male and female golfers over 35 years of age. There’s 15 divisions based on age and handicap and each day you will play with golfers your own age and standard.

Enter knowing that you are competing on a fair playing field. Last year’s winners must play off their reduced handicap. We will again check the 6 month playing history of all players and the burglars and sandbaggers will be targeted by the handicap committee. Check out the new promo where you can back yourself to score 34 or more stableford points on any round and win great golf prizes.

We welcome Srixon, makers of the world’s best performing golf equipment. Srixon products are so good, they are the only manufacturer that offer a money back satisfaction guarantee. We have over $120,000 in prizes up for grabs and lucky draw holiday prizes to the world’s most spectacular golf resorts.

The team at Go Golfing can’t wait to present the best-ever World Masters. So whether you come on your own, as a couple or with a party of friends – just don’t miss it.

  1. The 2015 Ladbrokes World Masters Golf Championship (‘The Championship’) shall be under the management and control of the Tournament Committee, whose decision on all matters relating to the Championship will be final.

  1. The Championship will be a 72 hole single stableford event. ‘A’ grade golfers will also be eligible to compete for a 72 hole ‘gross’ event. Competition rounds will be conducted on Monday 26 October, Tuesday 27 October, Thursday 29 October and Friday 30 October 2015.

  1. Golfers will be drawn to play one round at each of the four host courses. Course allocations & start times will be sent with the official program on 15 October 2015. All golfers will be drawn to play two morning and two afternoon rounds. A separate draw for playing partners will be conducted for each round and posted to the Go Golfing website on 15 October. Any requests for changes to your start times or playing request must be sent in writing to info@ gogolfing.net.au before 2pm AEST on 18 October. No changes can be made after this time. Final draws/flights will be published on 20 October 2015. You will be issued with a printout of your course allocations, start times and playing partners at tournament registration on Sunday 25 October. We can provide you with the same start times each day as your friends but cannot guarantee the same courses.

  1. Event age categories will be 35 – 55, 56 – 65, 66+. Note: Players must be within the appropriate age category as at the first day of play – Monday 26 October 2015. Age divisions are subject to change based on entry numbers.

  1. The handicap range for each grade (A, B, C) will be based on final entries. The maximum handicap for men and women are as follows:

Age 35-55; Men 30; Ladies 40

Age 56+; Men 36; Ladies 45

Players with higher handicaps must play off the maximum permitted handicap.

  1. Competitors must have an official handicap (endorsed by your national golf association). For golfers who have provided online access to their handicap history, tournament organisers will download your ‘handicap index’ on 10 October and this will be confirmed at tournament registration on 25 October. Entrants who have not provided online access to your handicap, must provide confirmation of your handicap index to the tournament committee no later than 10 October. This official handicap advice must be dated after 1 Oct 2015 and signed by an authorised club official. Players who fail to provide handicap verification will be permitted to play, but will be ineligible for golf prizes. Note: In partnership with Golf Link and International Golf Associations, the tournament committee will review the 6 month playing history of all entrants. The tournament committee reserves the right to amend player handicaps prior to and during the tournament.

  1. The ‘slope handicap system’ will be utilised to calculate player handicaps for the Championship rounds. Under the slope system, the difficulty of the golf course and the tee blocks played from determine a player’s handicap prior to the start of each round.

  1. The handicap committee have developed a complex and proven system for adjusting player handicaps (reductions only) following each round of the tournament. It takes into consideration:
  • Scores for each round in relation to the calculated course rating. The calculated course rating is based on the 15th percentile score at the course you are playing each day.
  • Consistent high scoring
  • Scores recorded on pre-determined holes
  • On course review of playing ability

The handicap committee’s decisions on handicaps are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Note: All handicap adjustments are for the Championship only. Your scores will be entered into GolfLink following your final round to update your official handicap.

  1. Trophies for the 72 hole event will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placegetters in each age/handicap division. Winners are determined by the highest aggregate of Stableford points over the four competition rounds. Trophies will be awarded to the winner of the 72 hole single stroke ‘gross’ event in each age division. Players may only win one trophy.

  1. Go Golfing has approved the use of distance measuring devices at the Ladbrokes World Masters. Go Golfing recommends the SureShot GPS range and has special offers for tournament entrants.

  1. All events will be conducted in accordance with the rules of golf and such local rules as approved by the tournament committee.

  1. In the event that weather conditions prevent all players from finishing their round, that competition round will be cancelled and the Championship reduced accordingly. If the course you are scheduled to play is closed or players complete less than 12 holes, golfers in that draw will receive a voucher for a round of golf including cart at that course (voucher valid for 12 months – excludes Glades GC).

  1. Additional Golf Events: Sunday 25 October (8.00am), 4BBB Stableford at Arundel Hills; Wednesday 28 October (7.30am or 12.30pm), ‘Skins’ at The Glades; Saturday 31 October (8.00am), 2 Person Ambrose – RACV Royal Pines Resort. Entries for these events are strictly limited and organisers reserve the right to refuse entry if capacity is exceeded. There will be no refund for players cancelling within 48 hours of any event. For these additional golf options, if the course is closed or weather conditions restrict players to less than 12 holes, golfers will receive a voucher for a round of golf at the selected course.

  1. Additional Non Golf Events that are organised throughout the event are subject to supplier refund policies and there will be no refunds for cancellations within 48 hours of any event.

  1. A deposit of A$250 must accompany each entry. The balance of all fees must be paid before 1 October 2015. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to refuse entry should capacity be exceeded.

  1. Refund applications received in writing before 1 October 2015 will be subject to a $50 administration charge. Cancellations between 1 October and 13 October will incur a $150 cancellation fee. No refunds will be processed for cancellations after 13 October. Note: Refunds for cancelled accommodation will be subject to the standard terms and conditions of each property.

  1. Entry applications with minimum deposit payment received before 15 July will receive a $100 discount on the full entry fee, a Srixon gift pack valued at $60 and 5 bonus entres in the major prize draw.

  1. The ‘Major Prize Draw’ will be conducted by a Ladbrokes representative on Saturday 31 October 2015 at RACV Royal Pines Resort. All registered golfers and non golfing partners will gain entry in the draw. Additional draw entries will be awarded for entries received before 15 July, past entrants, referrals, daily golf winners and Cancer Council raffle winners. Drawing Procedure – At approximately 9pm ten tickets will be drawn with those ten people to come up on stage. If the person is not present, there will be a redraw until 10 people are on stage. The ten names will then be placed in a barrel for the second stage of the drawing. In the second draw, the first name drawn will be placed in prize envelope number one. This process will be repeated for prizes two to ten. The prizes will then be presented from tenth prize through to first prize. All prizes are subject to terms and conditions.

  1. All prizes will be distributed in accordance with the rules of amateur golf status.

  1. Go Golfing may arrange media promotion and publicity before, during and after the Championship. Competitors assent to pictures of them appearing and being used for purposes determined by Go Golfing.

  1. The tournament committee may at its discretion amend or add any condition of the Championship.

  1. To drive a motorised cart, competitors agree to possess a current driver’s license and have previous experience driving a golf cart equal to a minimum of four rounds. In the event of an accident, the driver is responsible for the costs to repair the cart and any property damaged as well as being liable for any personal injury claims.

  1. By signing the Indemnity Disclaimer on the tournament entry form or registering online, competitors agree to participate in the Ladbrokes World Masters Golf Championship at their own risk. The tournament committee, Go Golfing, sponsors, host golf clubs and other suppliers of goods and services accept no liability for any death, injury, property loss or damage incurred during or arising out of any aspect of the conduct of the Championship.
