THE GREAT BALL IN CHINA GOLF TOUR

MISSION HILLS AND CHINA HIGHLIGHTS ITINERARY

Day 1: Saturday
A flight from Australia will have you arriving in Hong Kong around 6pm local time. You will be transferred to the centrally located Kimberley Hotel for a relaxing evening or the avid shoppers can get an early start. B/D

Day 2: Sunday
Following breakfast we travel from Hong Kong across the China border to Shenzhen. We will have a stop-over at the Lowu shopping complex to make any purchases of golf equipment and designer label copies. We will check-in at Mission Hills complex mid-afternoon before meeting for a Welcome Dinner. The sheer enormity of the accommodation, facilities and 180 golf holes will have you marvelling at the vision and construction feats achieved here. At Mission Hills you will enjoy a wide variety of world-class amenities and dining options along with exceptional service. Non-golfers can experience massage and beauty treatments at very reasonable prices at the Mission Hills Spa. B/D

Day 3: Monday
After an early breakfast we take to one of the many courses on offer at Mission Hills, "Faldo", not surprisingly designed by Nick Faldo. The Faldo course opened in early 1999 to great critical acclaim from the international media but has since become Asia's premier tournament venue. B/D

Day 4: Tuesday
Shenzhen is China's golfing capital and this morning the golfers will enjoy a round at one of Shenzhen's premier courses. I am sure you will be pleased with our selection. Non-golfers can indulge at Mission Hills in the spa or at the pool or take a transfer into Lowu for shopping. B/D

Day 5: Wednesday
After breakfast, today's challenge is the Vijay course. Vijay Singh, winner of the US Masters in 2000, gives us an insight into the excitement of tournament golf. This course skillfully incorporates the Pebble Beach 18 hole design which makes it the most spectacular in Asia. B/D

Day 6: Thursday
This morning we have a further look at Lowu and pick up any garments you have had prepared. Followed by a city tour including the Silk Market and Splendid China. It is here that you will see the largest and most elaborate miniature scenery parks in the world. Whilst rich and comprehensive, it is a lively replica of China, reflecting long-standing history, brilliant culture, art and ancient architecture. A spectacular theatre show to end the day will have you enthralled. B/L/D

Day 7: Friday
Golfers awake each day with great anticipation of the golfing challenge ahead. Today it is the "Leadbetter". Swing doctor to the world's best professionals, David Leadbetter was selcted to design his first ever course at Mission Hills, and what a beauty it is. It requires a true test of skill and will be an enjoyable challenge for all. B/D

Day 8: Saturday
After breakfast, we will again travel to another of Shenzhen's premier courses for what I am sure will be a memorable experience. B/D

Day 9: Sunday
An early morning round at another of Mission Hills courses Greg or Annika may feature on today's events. B/D

Day 10: Monday
After breakfast our final round at Mission Hills awaits. Tensions will mount as we have a seeded draw to determine the tour champions and much will be riding on the teams event. We are leaving it as a surprise as to which course you will play, but suffice to say you won’t be disappointed. This evening we relive the golfing and tour highlights with a farewell and presentation dinner. (B/L/D)

Day 11: Tuesday
There is little time for goodbye’s before we transfer to Shenzhen for our short flight to Xian (To be invoiced directly by licenced travel agent). This afternoon we visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and the City Wall. Accommodation at Tangcheng Hotel (B/L/D)

Day 12: Wednesday
Up with the birds, breakfast and a transfer to the airport for a flight bound for Beijing. Check-in to the stylish and elegant 5 star Beijing International Hotel which is located downtown. Our afternoon tour of the city highlights will include the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. This evening we dine at the world famous Quanjude Roast Duck restaurant, the largest in Beijing. Day 13: Thursday
A buffet breakfast is served in the dining room. The non-golfers can explore the silk and pearl markets. The golfers will be playing a round at the Beijing International Golf Club. (optional extra US$130) (B/D)

Day 14: Friday
Put on your walking shoes and definitely bring the camera for you are about to visit one of the greatest wonders of the world – The Great Wall of China! Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus stretching approximately 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles) from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2000 years, it will be sure to captivate you. You will be overawed by the Summer Palace and we have a quick stop at the Pearl Market. (B/L)

Day 15: Saturday
Today we depart Beijing for a flight to Shanghai (To be invoiced directly by licenced travel agent). On arrival we have a city tour which includes a visit to the Yu Garden and the Pearl TV Tower. (B/L/D)

Day 16: Sunday
Today is a free day for you to explore Shanghai’s delights and shopping. With the assistance of our local guide we can plan an itinerary to match your interests. (B)

Day 17: Monday
You have the morning at leisure before the first part of our homeward flight at around noon – Shanghai to Hong Kong. Connecting flights to Australia depart around 9-11pm. We can check our luggage at the airport and catch a bus or train into Hong Kong for a few hours. (B)
