FREE holidays and thousands of dollars in commission is available to golf clubs, social clubs and groups interested in promoting a golf tour. Go Golfing, Australia’s biggest organiser of events and tours for amateur golfers, are currently recruiting motivated clubs and individuals to share in the rewards of promoting a club or group tour.

More than 350 golfers have just returned from group golf tours to Queenstown in New Zealand’s South Island. Hosted by Go Golfing, golfers saved more than $700 each simply by travelling as part of a group. Free trips and big commissions were paid to organisers which included golf clubs, golf pros, social clubs and even just groups of mates. Forty members from Arundel Hills Golf Club on the Gold Coast, golf pros Lee Harrington and Lee Hunt arranged groups and a state of origin challenge between Brisbane’s Tattersalls Club and their southern counterparts were among the groups who travelled this year.

High praise for the tour came from Northlakes head professional Hunt. “All arrangements were first class and the members had a fantastic time,” he said. “Straight away we booked for Tasmania next year with tour numbers set to double.”

With big numbers travelling Go Golfing is able to negotiate group discounts for accommodation, golf, transfers, restaurants, tours and attractions. Apart from the savings, tours manager Tracey-Lea confirms Go Golfing provide every assistance and support for organisers. “We publish a glossy tour brochure with detailed itinerary for each club, personalised with their logo, preferred inclusions and pricing,” she said. “Clubs are issued with a professional slideshow about the tour and destination highlights for screening in the clubhouse and at functions.”

“Go Golfing supports organisers with a 24 hour information line for tour enquiries, look after all administration and bookings, collect all monies and even provide snippets to help promote the tour in your newsletter.” “It doesn’t stop there,” she added. “Travel advice and tips, what to pack and every detail is sent well before the trip.”

“So there is no stress - organisers just have to spread the word amongst members.”

Once you arrive at the destination, Go Golfing’s experienced team of tour hosts and co-ordinators ensure the whole tour runs like clockwork. Fostering fun and friendship and a helpful demeanour comes standard.

In 2010 Go Golfing is offering group tours to Queenstown NZ in March/April and Tasmania in October/November. These dates have been selected to afford golfers the best weather and optimum playing conditions. Clubs and groups can choose their preferred dates so you can avoid clashes with important events or maybe schedule a tour during your course renovations.

Both the Queenstown and Tasmanian tours are a classic combination of stunning courses, luxury hotels, popular attractions and some exclusive experiences that you won’t find in a travel brochure, a real WOW-factor.

Queenstown is back by popular demand. New Zealand’s newest resort sensation, Jacks Point, is a standout with a magnificent layout framed by the glacial fed Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables Mountain Range. The charming Millbrook Resort and a day trip to Wanaka combine to stake a claim as the most scenic golf destination in the world. Guaranteed lakefront rooms, winery tours, jetboating, heli ride, hot springs, Milford Sound and unrivalled settings for group dinners make Queenstown a compelling choice.

With the Aussie dollar currently buying around $1.28NZ, you are getting great value.

The Tasmanian tour will see you tee it up on the exclusive Royal Hobart and Tasmania golf clubs, the Country Club in Launceston and unlimited golf at Barnbougle Dunes, Australia’s top ranked public access course. A visit to the Australasian Golf Museum and a couple of holes with hickory clubs on Australia’s oldest course at Bothwell is a nostalgic trip back to our golfing forefathers.

Staying at the hotel casino’s in Hobart and Launceston you can choose the relaxed island lifestyle or up the tempo with restaurants, bars and the casino. Salamanca Markets, dinner cruise, wine making, the freshest seafood and awe-inspiring scenery are just some of the tour temptations to savour.

Go Golfing is the trusted name in golf tours. Their annual tours to New Zealand, Fiji, Malaysia, China, Las Vegas, Canadian Rockies, Egypt, South Africa and South America are sold out well in advance.

For those looking to stay closer to home there’s tours to the Melbourne Cup and a cruise of the Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef. Royal Melbourne is a feature of the Melbourne tours while a stunning new resort course off Hamilton Island is a highlight of the cruise.

If you are interested in organising a club or group tour or would like information about any of Go Golfing’s tours, please call Tracey-Lea on 07 5562 5307 or email tracey-lea@gogolfing.net.au.

"Our members had a fantastic time in Queenstown and all arrangements were first class. Lock us in for Tassie next year with double the numbers." - Lee Hunt, North Lakes GC
