In a rare coup for Australia, Melbourne becomes the first city outside of the United States to host the prestigious match-play competition more than once.  This is your unique opportunity to see arguably the greatest golfers on the planet in your own backyard.

The Presidents Cup is a series of men's golf matches between a United States team and an International Team representing the rest of the world less Europe, which competes against the U.S. in a similar but considerably older event, the Ryder Cup.

The iconic Royal Melbourne Golf Club, rated in the world’s top 10 has been selected as the host venue for the second time and will provide an exciting backdrop as the world’s best golfers do battle over four rounds.

The Presidents Cup is a matchplay competition between the best 12 players from the United States and an International team made up of the same number of players from the rest of the world, excluding Europe.

It is similar in format to the Ryder Cup, although there are six extra matches. The competition has been played every two years since 1994, alternating between venues in the U.S. and the rest of the world, but switched to odd years in 2003.

The U.S. have won four of the previous six editions with the only time the International team won was in Melbourne in 1998.
