TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1 Sunday, 27th June:
After arriving in Vancouver make your way to the tour hotel. This evening join the rest of the tour party for a ’Welcome to Canada’ dinner at the hotel. Accommodation: Rosedale on Robson Hotel—3 nights (inc full breakfast)
Day 2 Monday, 28th June:
Today we have a very interesting day planned for you. To compensate for your jet lag, we will allow for a late breakfast before we board our coach to explore all the tourist highlights of Vancouver and surrounds. We will pause for a light lunch along the way, before returning to our hotel, in time to freshen up for evening dining. We will provide dining suggestions.
Day 3 Tuesday, 29th June:
Westwood Plateau is already rated in the top 10 of Canada’s public courses and the 5th hole has the distinguished honour of being selected as one of Canada’s top 18 holes. Modern GPS carts will make the experience even more enjoyable. www.westwoodplateaugold.bc.ca
Day 4 Wednesday, 30th June:
This morning we take the 90 minute ferry trip Vancouver Island, past ancient lighthouses and hundreds of islands, so inhabited, some containing large farmhouses and ranches. This afternoon is free to explore the beautiful city of Victoria. Accommodation: in the heart of the Inner Harbour - 3 nights. (Accommodation is self contained with a fridge and kitchenette - inc continental breakfast)
Day 5 Thursday, 1st July:
Golf today is at Olympic View. Surrounded by the magnificence of the Olympic Mountains, the roar of two spectacular waterfalls, and the tranquillity associated with twelve lakes. The 17th with its Chinese island garden and 60 foot waterfalls behind the green is one of the most picturesque backdrops to any golf hole in the world. www.golfbc.com
Day 6 Friday, 2nd July:
Bear Mountain Golf Club Co-designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son Steven the golf course at Bear Mountain is set in the foothills of Mount Finlayson and strikes the perfect balance between playability and a truly challenging all round golf experience for golfers of all skill levels. With panoramic mountain, city and ocean views set within rolling fairways and lush forest, rest assured - you will be back for more.
Day 7 Saturday, 3rd July:
his morning we take in some further sightseeing of Victoria before visiting the world-famous Butchart Gardens. Whether you are a nature lover or not, you will be enthralled by this botanical masterpiece. After a short ferry ride back to Vancouver, a leisurely coach ride up to the Sea to Sky Highway will have us arriving at the spectacular ski resort of Delta Whistler Village suites - 3 nights ( self contained with kitchenette, washing machine and dryers gives us a chance to freshen up the wardrobe. Day 8 Sunday, 4th July:
Whistler Golf, Arnold Palmer’s first Canadian design, and home to a truly “ Whistler” brand of golf. You will notice that a round of golf at the Whistler Golf Club is truly something different. While the spectacular views signature design and uncompromising course conditions are standard fare, it is the friendly, relaxed and helpful personality of the course staff that makes a Whistler Golf Club experience uniquely Whistler. We call it “ Palmer’s design, Whistler’s attitude.” Take your camera today as the course is home to ’black bears’. Most of the group last tour were lucky enough to get a photo.
Day 9 Monday, 5th July:
Golf today is at Nicklaus North, snow capped peaks. A brilliant emerald coloured lake, majestic fir trees, fresh invigorating mountain air. This is the setting that inspired the Great Nicklaus to create a course as unique as himself. www.golfbc.com
Day 10 Tuesday, 6th July:
This morning we head off into the heart of the Rockies for Kelowna. Kelowna is in the Okanagan Valley - the ‘fruit basket’ of Western Canada and regarded as Canada’s premier wine growing district. Overlooking the lake we stay at The Prestige Hotel Kelowna - 3 nights (inc breakfasts)
Day 11 Wednesday, 7th July:
Time to relax and take in the tranquil surrounds of the lake and enjoy the many amenities of this casino resort. This evening we experience one of the highlights of the tour. A visit to the palatial Mission Hill Winery for a guided tour followed by a gourmet dinner and wine pairing experience second to none.
Day 12 Thursday, 8th July:
Today we play the famed Gallagher’s Canyon course known internationally for its impressive test of golf and spectacular scenery. The bent grass fairways, tees and greens are boarded by majestic Ponderosa Pines and white silica bunkers create this masterpiece. All golfers will find this course as enjoyable and challenging as it is scenic. www.golfbc.com
Day 13 Friday, 9th July:
his morning we drive through more of the spectacular Rockies from Kelowna to Banff. You will have the afternoon to leisurely explore the boutique style town or take a ride up the Banff gondola for amazing panoramic views of the mountains and the town below. Accommodation: Charlton’s Cedar Court - 2 nights (inc breakfasts)
Day 14 Saturday, 10th July:
A trip to Lake Louise this morning is yet another highlight, This pristine glacier fed lake and the magnificent Chateau would have to be one of the most photographed attractions in Canada. We then experience the magnificent Banff Springs course. Designed by Stanley Thompson the course winds along the Bow River under the snow capped peaks of Sulphur Mountain and Mound Rundle. The course offers 2 things: a breathtaking view in every direction and a magnificent layout that thrills every golfer fortunate enough to play here.
Day 15 Sunday, 11th July:
Today we drop down out of the Rockies as we head to Calgary, the rodeo capital of the world. Today we will be able to test our skills on one Calgary’s finest courses “Country Hills Golf Course”. This 36 hole complex will be an excellent challenge for our final round of the tour. We will have a seeded draw to further add to the interest of our friendly tour golf challenge. Accommodation: 2 nights at the centrally located Holiday Inn Downtown hotel with full breakfast
Day 16 Monday, 12th July:
Today will be full of excitement when we spend the entire day at the stampede. This atmosphere of enthusiastic locals is enough for anyone to want to be involved. After a day at the stampede, we will return to the hotel to freshen up before our farewell and presentation dinner to conclude our tour. For anyone that wishes to party on, the town will be buzzing with excitement throughout the duration of the stampede.
Day 17 Tuesday, 13th July:
We enjoy our last hearty breakfast together before we transfer to the airport for our flight to Vancouver. OR maybe you would prefer to take the world famous Rocky Mountaineer rail journey back to Vancouver with an overnight stop in Kamloops.
